We're going to University of Arizona! For PhD school in the Fall, that is. We're pretty excited just to have a decision made and to know where we're going so we can start planning our summer. The above pic is from a visit we had there Thanksgiving 2008 to visit my friend Merissa who went there. At the time, Ryan did not want to be in a picture with the U of A mascot. And now he's going to attend there! Below is a pic of me and Merissa at a fountain at U of A:
Ryan is really excited to do research there, and it will be nice to try something at least somewhat new.
I'm a little sad to be leaving Provo, and there are some things here that I've always wished to do, but won't get the chance now. So if you're still going to be in the Provo area, do what I didn't!
- Participate in True Blue Football
- Throw colored chalk at the Color Festival at the Krishna Temple
- Do the drive-through Christmas display in Spanish Fork
- Go tubing at Soldier Hollow (there's still a chance we might do this :))
- Hike Mt. Timp
- Go see the Lavender Fields
I'm sure there are other things, but I can't think of them right now. Here's some things I'm excited for in Tucson:
- The Dance Loft- it's a dance studio for adults, and you can take individual classes without having to sign up for a whole class!
- Getting tan again (just from swimming so often, not purposely go out and tan)
- The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
- Being in a real family ward (I've loved our student wards, but I'm ready to move on)
- Being close to family
- Arizona sunsets
- The Biosphere
- Kitt Peak
And I'm sure there will be more as we find out more!
