Hawaiian Bliss

For Ryan's graduation, my parents took us to Hawaii (specifically Oahu). It was awesome! My favorite thing was just sitting on the beach, feeling the sunshine and watching the waves come in and out. It was also fun to play in the water with Ryan. Hawaii is so beautiful, and I just really love the Polynesian culture.

Here's me with what seems to be the flower I most identify with Hawaii. And it's pink!
We went to Pearl Harbor and saw the Arizona Memorial. I had never really realized the impact of that day the Pearl Harbor was bombed until we visited there. I felt really patriotic though by the time we were done there. Here's a cool picture from inside the Memorial:

A picture from outside the Memorial:
Me making shooting noises while I pretended to shoot the old gun:

Ryan being a shooter-guy. I think they have one of these in a park in Provo. Anyone else seen it?
Ahoy Captain! I see something in the submarine scope!

We weren't able to go to the Hawaii temple since it was closed for renovations, but it was still really beautiful to see again. I had seen it before when my brother got married there like 9 years ago. By the way, Happy Anniversary James and Savili!

We also went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. In this picture, the pineapples in the foreground are red. Crazy!

At the plantation they had a pond with fish in it that you could feed, and this is what would happen if you did happen to feed them. There were fish not in the water at all they wanted the food so badly!

"I've got a lovely bunch of pineapples, doodly-do..." (By the way, Ryan is actually holding Hyrum in this picture).
On the pineapple train.
We went through the pineapple maze which is, apparently, the biggest in the world according to Guiness World Records. We got lost:
Here's Hyrum on the beach with my mom. He didn't like the ocean very much (I think he was afraid of the waves), but he did like the sand!

We went snorkeling in Hanauma Bay and saw some pretty cool fish. I know I'm lame, but fish scare me, so when I saw a big, blue, two-foot long fish right next to me I freaked out. But that was the only mishap. Ryan also went scuba diving like five times that trip and saw all sorts of cool things like sea turtles, however, I don't have the pictures from that.

At Hanauma Bay there were chickens on the beach. Now that's the chicken life I would want! Here's proof:
Aren't they cute? Isn't the beach beautiful? Loved it! Thanks Mom and Dad! We love you and loved spending time with you.
