Hyrum LOVES to have his picture taken these days. When he’s doing something he knows is cute, he’ll say “picture me, Mommy!” meaning he wants me to take a picture of him. What a ham!
Before Cora came, Hyrum liked to do things with Baby, like bring a blanket and pillow downstairs and “sleep” next to him.
Something else exciting that happened this month: we got a shed! Ryan helped my dad build it one Saturday. We’re so excited to have a place to store our stuff!
You can see the last post with details on Cora’s birth, but here’s the million pictures I’ve taken since then:
Hyrum likes Cora. He always comes up to her and says, “aw, so cute!” He also likes to hold her (except when she poops while he’s holding her). He gives her lots of kisses and loves to be the one to give her her binky. He’ll also put her blanket on her when she’s sleeping (even though she hardly ever needs it- it’s hot here!).
Hyrum’s first time holding Cora:
The first day I was alone with these two, Cora was on her little beany bed and Hyrum was pushing blocks away from her with his bubble sword and saying “away from her!” I guess he’s already protective of his baby sister!
My parents came and helped with Hyrum and Cora when I had the baby and for a week after. My mom made us food, went shopping for me, cleaned my toilets and shower, vacuumed, swept, mopped, played with Hyrum, held and burped Cora, and made me a ton of meals to put in the freezer. She’s the best! And super mom! I was very sad to see her go, but we’ve been doing alright.
My dad fixed a bunch of stuff (toilets, the shed, our island, sprayed weeds) while they were here, too. Super dad! And had time to hold this little nugget:
Hyrum begged to go with my parents when they were leaving because he had such a good time with them (and they spoil him). I had to bribe him with some TV time to get him to stay with us!

Hyrum has been holding his own nebulizer for his treatments the past couple of weeks. He’s getting so big! It won’t be long now when he’ll be a little more self-sufficient with his treatments. Yay!
Speaking of him being big, the first time we were all home together after having baby, both Ryan and I noticed that Hyrum seemed HUGE. Like I seriously wondered if the kid had grown a foot and gained 10 pounds while we were in the hospital. It is a little sad to me that he doesn’t seem like my baby anymore, but I guess I need to face the facts- he’s growing up!
This girl is a great sleeper, and even better: she’s a great eater! It has been a little odd to us to have a baby that cries when she’s hungry. And then eats and keeps eating with little encouragement. It’s awesome!!

The best news of all: Cora does NOT have cystic fibrosis! I got the call last week, and I cried (sobbed) tears of joy! We feel very blessed and grateful to our Heavenly Father. It is such a relief!
