August 2026

We enjoyed the last bit of summer and the beginning of the school year this August.

Hyrum made us some rolls, but forgot to take the plastic off when he baked them, so they looked amazing as long as you don't mind eating straight plastic!

I took all the kids Back to School shopping, and they each picked a treat to get afterwards. A few of them picked getting a Cazookie, including Zane:

Family cuddle on Sunday mornings is the best!

Though Cora doesn't like to participate:

Zane is loving being in Young Men's and all the fun things they do:

The Young Men at the temple:

The Young Women had a fancy tea for an activity this month, and Cora looked so beautiful all dressed up:

The Teachers and Priests floated the Provo River and survived!

Hyrum got a 5 on his AP Chem exam in May, so it was fun to embarrass him with a sign in our yard:

Zane loved having his long hair curled:

We had one volunteer sunflower this year in the garden bed from last year's sunflower, and it really grew! It was fun to watch its progress throughout the month:

We all went to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters, and we all loved it!

Ryan and I went to see Guys and Dolls at the Scera for a date this month:

I got to take Hyrum on his date for the summer this month, and we went to the Museum of Art at BYU and out to dinner!

Ivy started dance with her new team this month, and she is loving it!

Ryan and I did a date night with some friends to a Quiz game show, and while the system had a fair amount of hitches, it was still a lot of fun and me and Ryan ended up winning!

We also found a new restaurant we're loving this month, and we loved the decor in there:

Hyrum went to a Western-themed dance this month for the high school, and he looked so cute all dressed up:

Fun school project for Zane:

We decided to start letting Zane sit in the front seat this month, and it's been so fun to have him next to me when driving!

Ryan went to Reno for a conference this month- he even got to bowl at the National Bowling Stadium!

I got an award at work this month- the FHSS Early Career Staff Award! I was very honored, and felt so appreciated for all I do at work. The award said: "Tricia brings incredible energy and organization to BYU Civic Engagement and has played an important role in growing the minor, supporting our students, and bringing high-quality speakers to campus."

We had some crazy rain this month, and the kids loved playing in it when the lightning wasn't striking!

They made each professor a card like this for Ryan's work party this month, and it was fun to see what Ryan's students said about him:

Zane's soccer season started this month, and they're doing great! He is on both a rec team and his club team, and it still isn't enough soccer for Zane!

We went to Rock Canyon park this month as a family, and it was fun to play some volleyball and play in the creek:

Our friends came to stay a couple of times this month, and it was so fun to hang out with them and watch them play soccer!

Zane had his tie on backwards one Sunday at church:

Another great month in the books!
