1. He was born October 2nd, 2009 at 7:41pm a week and one day past my due date.
2. He weighed eight pounds one ounce at birth and was 20 inches long.
3. He had to breathe on a machine for the first hour of his life just to make sure he wasn't working too hard to breathe.
4. He came pre-circumcised (I think it was to save his mom and dad some money).
5. He has really long fingers and big hands, which is funny because both Ryan and I have stubby little fingers.
6. His feet are also large, and hardly fit into the 0-3 month socks we bought. The newborn socks didn't have a chance.
7. He prefers Mam pacifiers, no matter how much I try to give him other brands.
8. He is a great sleeper, hence why I have the time to update the blog.
9. I think he has my nose and Ryan's chin. The rest is to be determined.
10. He has a diamond-shaped cowlick in the front of his hair. I'm interested to see how it will look when he has more hair.
11. I have to wake him up basically every time I have to feed him which is no easy task.
12. He loves the BYU football team.
13. He is really good at focusing and following with his eyes. If you ever get a chance to hold him when he's awake, you'll see how much he studies your face.
14. He smiles! A lot in his sleep and when he's nursing. Yes, I know it's involuntary but it's still darn cute.
15. He's a pretty good mover too- he can roll to either side and tries to jump up Ryan's shoulder.
16. When he has a bowel movement, you know it. You hear it and smell it's awfulness immediately! That's when I know to hand him over to Ryan :)
There's tons more, I just can't think of them right now. Anyways, here's some pictures of the little cutie (um, the rest are at the top):

Way cute! I'm glad we got to come see you last week and meet the little guy. Hopefully ours decides to come soon and then they can be friends. Glad you're doing so well!
ReplyDeleteI do not have stubby little fingers!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to finally see pictures (although I cheated and saw some on Meagan's blog). Hope all is well and we are so happy for you. It would be fun to chat sometime and hear about everything!
ReplyDeleteSo precious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool little guy! I hope we get to meet him soon. Where will you guys be at New Year's???
ReplyDeleteP.S. In the first picture, Hyrum looks like a Jedi. Just saying. I'm not sure whose side of the family that's from.
Yeah. He was actually levitating his pacifier when we took that picture. We just couldn't get a good enough angle to get them both in.
ReplyDeleteWe won't be here for New Year's, but we'll be here soon after. How long are you going to be here?
I don't think what they say about newborns smiling is entirely correct cuz my little gal smiles so much when we talk to her and has been doing that since the first week! I know it's not all involuntary :)
