We had our second ultrasound this month to try to find out the gender (while getting the necessary pictures of the baby and such), and baby still kept her upper thighs tight together the entire time. The technician checked around as much as she could though, and said she thought it was probably a girl. She told us, “buy some girl clothes, but keep the receipts.” So, not super encouraging, but we think it is probably a girl.
Here I am at 25 Weeks:
Also during this ultrasound, I guess baby was in a really good position to see the four chambers of her heart. So good, in fact, that the technician brought in three other technicians to show them how to get a new shot of the heart. It was funny because the technicians kept saying, “oh beautiful! What a beautiful aorta!” And things like that. I guess this baby is at least beautiful on the inside!
Hyrum was playing with a plastic egg (from Easter) that he snuck out of my holiday box. He opened it up and said, “hatching, Mommy!”
One day while Hyrum was playing by himself while I was cleaning the kitchen I heard him randomly count to ten in Spanish. Neither Ryan nor I have taught him this- he must have learned it from Dora (his current favorite TV show)!
When we asked Hyrum (the day we kind of found out) what he thinks we should name his little sister he said, “Brother.”
One of Hyrum’s Buzz Lightyear toys has his arms folded. Hyrum pulled this toy out the other day and said “Buzz, prayer, purse (aka personal) prayer!” and set Buzz on the table so Buzz could have some peace during his ‘personal prayer.’
Here’s a picture of our Chinese New Year celebration, peanut noodles and cream cheese rangoons, followed by Kung Fu Panda 2:
Hyrum loves (aka insists) on saying the prayer these days. Here is how his prayer goes, every time, if he doesn’t have help: “Dear Heavenly Father, Thankful food, Christ, Amen.” Followed by cheering. If we do try to help him during his prayer (like to add ‘bless the food’ or something), he will stop and say “No, Hyrum’s turn,” and then say whatever we told him to say.
Hyrum has started to ‘sing’ some songs all on his own. The first song I ever heard him sing was Jingle Bells. Since then I have heard him sing the Dora theme song, Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam, and Once There Was A Snowman.
