We had a great Valentine’s Day this year! At least I really enjoyed it :) Ryan and I got to go on a date the weekend before to a work dinner where there were some visiting students from Finland, so that was pretty fun (yummy food for free!). The students pretty much convinced Ryan that he wants to live in Finland someday.

When Ryan came home the day before Valentine’s Day, he had brought me a dozen beautiful roses. Hyrum ran out to the car to greet his daddy, as usual, and Ryan handed him the roses to bring to me. Hyrum came running to me with the bouquet in his hands, excitedly yelling, “Look, Mommy! Leaves!” He was so excited to bring me a bunch of leaves, I think he missed the fact that there were flowers in there.
On the actual day, Hyrum and I made cookies in the morning, which he LOVED to help roll and cut them out. Holidays are getting so fun since Hyrum is old enough to participate!
We got to see Ryan a little early that day since we had our third ultrasound to try to find out the gender of this baby. I guess third time’s the charm because she was very cooperative and we know she’s a girl! Yay for knowing! And a great Valentine’s gift :)
Then Ryan and I made an awesome dinner together at home (Cajun creamy alfred0). We opened gifts at dinner: Hyrum got a tube of M&Ms, Ryan got an iTunes gift card, and I got a tree wall decal for the playroom. After dinner, we decorated the cookies and just had a great time together as a family.
