We gave Hyrum Ryan’s old Cabbage Patch Doll to play with, to hopefully give him some idea of the baby that’s coming. Since getting the doll, named “Baby,” he has tried to give it a ‘treatment’ (like his breathing treatment for CF) a few times. So funny and cute!
He still really loves Dora and has recently taken to telling me that Swiper is all over the place. He’ll say, “Swiper’s on the couch!” with an ‘oh-no’ face, and then I’ll ask him, “what do we do?” Then he’ll do the whole, ‘Swiper no swiping’ move and be very happy that we stopped that sneaky fox.
Hyrum thinks freckles are ‘owies,’ and I’ve been having a hard time explaining to him that they aren’t.
Hyrum got an awesome package from the Schuetzlers for Valentine’s Day, with some gummy bracelets from Aunt Maren and Uncle Dallen. He wanted to put those on right away!
We have started to leave Hyrum’s door unlocked at night, and so I get to wake up to him coming in every morning and saying, “sleep well, Mommy?” because that’s what I ask him when I get him out of bed. It’s so sweet!
Hyrum LOVES to play with friends. He will ask me every day, “friends?” I don’t think that kid is happier than when he is playing with friends. Maybe he’s like his mommy, and doesn’t like to be alone!
Hyrum loves: dinosaurs, fruit snacks, Dora, trains, cars, counting, reading books, the Kindle, bubbles with Daddy, hats, and going on walks/to the park
Ryan and I went on a mini-vacation/early anniversary celebration last weekend. Since our 5th anniversary is this year in August, and we wanted to do something special for it, we knew we’d have to do it before the baby comes if we wanted to do an overnight without kids thing. So, we stayed one night at the same hotel we stayed at on our wedding night (in Mesa) and did this little romance package thing. It included Martinelli’s and chocolate covered strawberries that night and a room service breakfast in the morning.
At our hotel (the only picture we took, so sad!):
We went to Phoenix’s version of Tucano’s for dinner (it wasn’t nearly as good as Tucano’s, but still good) and then went to “The Artist” at the movie theater. The next morning we just chilled and slept in a little, then went to the temple. It was a really perfect celebration, I only wish it had been longer! Thanks so much to Grandma and Grandpa Martin for taking Hyrum overnight!
HAHA! Owen thinks freckles are owies, too! How funny :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad we don't live closer to each other so Gabriel could be Hyrum's friend :), then they could play and we could visit.
ReplyDeletelook at that cute belly!! How fun you guys got to spend your "anniversary" in the same hotel! that's so romantic :-) Such a good idea to do it now too. And I really thought Hyrum wouldn't get cuter. Nope, he proved me wrong! that kid is so adorable!
