So we live just down the street from an air force base, and Ryan LOVES it. He will run to the window every time we hear a plane go by. He has also been anxiously waiting for them to put on an air show since we moved here, and finally, a couple of weeks ago, they had one.
My favorite plane I saw (picture courtesy of Jeff):
Ryan went early and stayed till the end with his friend Jeff to make sure he didn’t miss a minute of the whole event. Hyrum and I came later and left early, which was fine with both of us.
It was actually cold that day (very unusual for AZ) which was great for me! I enjoyed it a lot more that way: I wasn’t sweating to death and there were way fewer people there.
They had planes set out that you could go in and all sorts of things to look at before the show started.
The air show was actually really cool, and I’m glad I got to see it. I missed the Thunderbirds, because they went at the very end, but hopefully I’ll see them at the next air show. I actually saw them practicing a few times during the week, and they are pretty cool. Hyrum was scared of the loud noises at first, but got over that with some help from Ryan. His favorite was when the helicopters got close to the crowd and had people climbing down ropes out of them. He kept asking for the helicopters to come back!
Ryan’s favorite, the Thunderbirds:
Ryan loved the air show so much he even wished he could spend his days travelling the country to see all of the different air shows that go on. At least we’ll be going again in 2 years!
