We told Hyrum that when the baby comes, she’ll sit by him in the back seat of the car. He really loved that idea, because he gets lonely back there. Now, every time we get in the car, he says, “Baby sit in back with Hyrum?” and is very happy about that idea.

Here I am at 32 Weeks:

We got some bad news this month, and it upset me a lot. So much so that I was crying for awhile about it. Hyrum was very concerned about Mommy, so he offered me his Lightning McQueen car that he loves to play with to make me feel better. When that didn’t work, he ran upstairs, grabbed some band aids, and tried to stick them on my arm. It was very cute. Oh, I wish that band aids healed everything!

Hyrum’s current favorite TV show to watch during treatment is Phineas and Ferb. Actually, our whole family likes it! Hyrum has even taken to saying things like, “Curse you Perry the Platypus!” and “Mom, Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!” randomly around the house.

Hyrum may have a closet Kindle Fire addiction!

Hyrum has started waking up consistently before 6 every morning, usually around 5:15 to 5:30 am. Ryan and I are not liking this new development.

Hyrum is definitely in another phase where he has a hard time sharing and likes to say “mine!” with a scowl on his face. He will even pick fights with friends that aren’t even playing at our house that day. He’ll do something like grab a toy and say, “ my motorcycle, Owen!” when Owen hasn’t been over to play for a week or two. I guess he likes to practice.

One day Hyrum came into my room and told me that he had but Baby to bed. I went into his room to see, and sure enough, Hyrum had put his doll into his bed, and given Baby his two blankets and teddy bear he has to sleep with. Then he had us sit on the bed (like I do at night) and sing “I Am A Child of God” to Baby. I think this means he will be a sweet big brother!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before, but Hyrum loves to stick his fingers in little holes, like in the back of legos and things. Someday I worry he’s going to put them in a hole that he can’t get out of!

Hyrum went a whole two days with this thing in his mouth. He calls himself ‘Potato Head Hyrum’:

For one of our Family Home Evenings this month, Ryan decided we should learn about reverence (since Hyrum needs a bit of help in this area). Ryan made a visual of the 5 things to keep quiet: lips, feet, eyes, ears, arms folded. Hyrum has loved this bag of visuals! He will pick each of the items out and say what we should do with them when being reverent. Very cute. If only this would transfer directly to Sacrament meeting….

We had a good St. Patrick’s Day celebration (the Monday after) with thin mint trifle, Irish Soda bread, and baked potatoes:
