Hyrum used to say “fank-oo” to say thank you, but he has recently switched to saying “tanks!”

 

Hyrum will always tell me that Lightning McQueen says, “Light. Ning. Mc. Queen. Ka. Chow. Vroom!” Apparently, Finn McMissile and a lot of other cars say the same thing.

Hyrum likes to sing the Phineas and Ferb song and move Cora’s arms as he does so, and he calls it dancing with Cora. It’s pretty cute, I’ll have to get a video of it and post it here.

Another Phineas and Ferb reference: Hyrum has told me a few times, “Hey mommy, I know what we’re gonna do today!” When I ask him what we’re going to do today, he usually takes a second to think and says something like “build a rocket!” or “play with toys!”

Hyrum still loves to give Cora lots of hugs and kisses, and now he has added to the affection by saying, “Hyrum love her” as he does so.

Hyrum used to say noodles correctly, but he has recently switched to calling them “nurdles.” Then he’ll ask for “turtle nurdles” when he wants some on his plate. It’s too cute, I don’t want to correct him :)

In true big brother fashion, Hyrum likes to “play” with Cora. Lately he especially loves yelling in her face. The things I have to say to him: “Don’t [spit on, drive your car on, point your sword at, smother, etc] your sister!” I think he thinks she’s a playmate already. He will just lay down next to her and look at her, hug her, talk to her, hold her hand, make her dance, and lots of other cute things. I hope it lasts!

Cora is getting so tall! At her month appointment she was 8 pounds 8 ounces, and 21.25 inches (I think). She is in the 30th or so for weight and like 80th for height. And I know she has already grown taller since then!

Cora can now follow objects with her eyes and has started cooing and smiling, so we’re enjoying that. She pretty much only wakes up once at night and is an amazing sleeper and eater still!

Both kids got sick this month: Cora with blocked tear ducts and a cold and Hyrum with impetigo, conjunctivitis, an ear infection, and a cold. I was also sick with a cold at the same time, so there were medications all around!

I was trying to get a picture of the frown she makes right before she starts crying, but I just couldn’t get it:

I had a great Mother’s Day- Ryan really spoiled me. He made me breakfast in bed, and Hyrum got to help for the first time! I didn’t have to change hardly any diapers all day and Ryan just let me relax. And he made me a yummy dinner (double crunchy honey garlic chicken)! Hyrum loved saying “Happy Mother’s Day!” to me and his grandmas all day.
