Hyrum LOVES Halloween! He has been begging me to go trick-or-treating since July. I almost gave in back then and was going to ask some neighbors to let us come, but Ryan didn’t want us to have the weird kid who goes trick-or-treating in July so I dealt with the tantrum instead.
He also loves the Halloween episode of the different shows he watches and will watch them over and over. So, I knew Hyrum was going to really enjoy Halloween this year.
We had a great and busy Halloween. Ryan took the kids to trick-or-treating at the Zoo the weekend before Halloween, then we had a Halloween birthday party, a neighborhood festival, and a Halloween party all that Saturday before Halloween. And then on Halloween we had friends over to make mini pizzas and go trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. Hyrum really liked “trick-or-treaters” and did really well with it this year.
Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Perry:
If you were to ask him what he was going to be for Halloween he would say, “a stuperhero!” We did have a few problems though because through the course of the month he changed his mind to want to be a cat (like Dora) and then a “spooky ghost.” However, I was able to keep him wanting to be a superhero, which was good because I had already put effort into making it!
So, the kids were the superheroes and we were the villains (Ryan was Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb and I was Catwoman).
We let Hyrum draw the face for our jack-o-lantern this year and I think he did an awesome job (there were some modifications from Ryan)!
He still hates to dig out the pumpkin guts though. No surprise since he’s my kid who hates to get dirty.
Me and Cora mostly watched:
I also got each of the kids a little pumpkin that Hyrum colored with markers. Cora did do one little swipe before she tried to eat the marker!
