Hyrum stopped taking naps, so now he has an hour of quiet time where he plays upstairs quietly, by himself. One Sunday after his quiet time Hyrum ran down the stairs excitedly and told me to come in his room and see “the special tower I made for you!” It was really a tower made of blocks that he made just for me. Then we played on his bed me tickling both kids like crazy and them both laughing. Those are the moments I hope to never forget :)
We had a family home evening about being thankful and we were telling Hyrum that Heavenly Father made everything for us and we are so blessed to have it, so he should be thankful. Crying, he said, “I don’t want to be thankful! I want to be Hyrum!”
Hyrum with his new cousin:
We have been to Chuck E Cheese and another place kind of like it a few times in the past couple of months, and we have definitely discovered something about Hyrum: he’s lucky! The kid has won big jackpots on a couple of games. Maybe the key is to press the button completely randomly like he does…
These blow-up guitars were just a few of the spoils from our latest World Sports Grille trip:
Sometimes I will hold Hyrum in my arms and say something like, “I just love my little baby boy!” To that Hyrum usually responds with, “I’m not a baby yet!”
Cora started sitting all by herself very steadily at the beginning of the month:
Hyrum is now fully potty trained and rarely has accidents. He even loves going potty whenever we are out. At home, Hyrum will hold it for hours and hours before going potty, yet when we go out he seems to immediately need to go, even though I always make him go potty before we leave. I joke with Ryan that he is just trying to see the potties of the world, because when we go in a different public restroom he always looks around all awestruck and says something like, “what is this place?”
Sadly, Hyrum has stopped taking regular naps- pretty much since the beginning of November. He does have an hour of quiet time where he plays upstairs quietly by himself, but he still definitely needs naps. Sigh.
Hyrum “trapped” Cora while playing upstairs one day:
Sometimes Hyrum will tell us “dat’s the rules!” after explaining to us what he is going to do.
Their first bath together!
Cora lights up whenever we start to sing “Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam.” Definitely her favorite song so far.
Cora loves her baths:
Cora has started to blow raspberries. It is pretty cute, except when she does it after I stick a spoonful of mashed peas in her mouth. I have thought about wearing an apron while feeding her these days.
Cora is so happy every time I come in to get her out of her crib after a nap. I love to come in to see that huge smile!
We had our first garage sale ever at the beginning of this month! It happened to be the only cold day we’ve had so far, so we didn’t get many customers, but I was happy to just get rid of stuff!
