We were in Mesa with the Martins for Christmas this year. It was so fun!
The Monday before Christmas we went to see the lights at the Mesa temple and see a Christmas concert on the grounds. It was beautiful (though Ryan and Cora missed it since she was too antsy to sit still)!
At Grandma Martin’s house, the kids’ favorite place to be was in little plastic bins:

We had our usual Christmas Eve nativity program, plus a yummy Chinese dinner. Hyrum and Cora were wise men, though Cora stopped wanting to wear her costume once we actually started:
Then Santa came! When he asked who had been good this year, the first picture shows Hyrum’s reaction:
Cora was even more terrified this time, and shrank back when Santa called her name:
Hyrum loved it. His eyes were so full of wonder!
Everyone enjoyed meeting Santa:
On Christmas morning, I think Hyrum had forgotten that it was Christmas, so we had to remind him. But he loved it once he remembered! He had a lot of presents to open, but once they were all opened he was sad and told me, “but I’m not done! I want to open more!” Cora was happy to open one or two presents, but reaally didn’t want to open any more after that. If you tried to get her to come open another one, she would scream and run away. She definitely loved the play smartphone she got the most on Christmas morning. Since then, she has really come to love her play kitchen too. Hyrum got quite a few Jake toys, and he loves them! He also likes the book I made him about when he was a baby. He usually wants to read it every day.
Ryan got parts to make a computer for Christmas, and he is loving it! I got a Silhouette Cameo that I am still learning to use, but I know it will be awesome!
We definitely had a great Christmas!
