We Will Be a Family of Five!

I realized I never announced on here, but I am pregnant!

We found out on March 16th of this year:

Here’s how I announced it on Facebook:

“For all those wondering if I’ve been gaining weight, I am. And I will continue to do so for the next 6 months. We’re pregnant with baby #3, due November 23rd “

I was much sicker with this baby than with my other two, and I was pretty much completely out of commission for weeks 8-10. Weeks 10- 13 I was continually feeling less nauseated, but then I kept getting different viruses from weeks 13-16, so I didn’t really benefit from it. Thankfully, the stomach sick and the colds were gone just in time for our road trip mid-June.

With this baby, I’ve been craving candy, especially more fruity kinds (which is way unusual for me- I don’t usually buy candy). I’ve also craved cereal, especially at night, and many times I have felt too sick for anything else, so I’ve had a lot of smoothies lately.

Hyrum has wanted to name this baby Gokia before he even knew I was pregnant, so we decided that could be this little one’s nickname, since he was so attached to it (he has named our in the future 4th baby Pokia as well). Every time I tell Cora there’s a baby in my tummy, she lifts my shirt to look for it, and then points to her own tummy and says there’s a baby in hers as well.

We had to have a special test done because I had a higher risk for down syndrome from some measurement from my first ultrasound called the Harmony test, so we found out the gender over the phone while I was on my road trip, on June 13th at 16 weeks. I’ll tell you, it’s weird to find out that way. And not as exciting, because I had no idea when the call would come so I couldn’t get all pumped about finding out. But we know- IT’S A BOY! We are super excited about it And the Harmony test came back negative, so as far as they can tell, everything is fine with the baby.

I started to feel the baby kick around 16 weeks as well, and he seems like a pretty active little guy. I may be in for another energetic little boy!

I wish there weren’t so much time left until November, because I can’t wait to hold and cuddle this new little boy coming to our family!
