We had a fun Halloween this year, though a busy one! Cora, Zane, and I went to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch for our preschool field trip and had a ton of fun (that place is giant and full of activities- we didn’t even get to half of it!):
Hyrum’s kindergarten class went to Vala’s on a different day for their field trip, so I didn’t get to see him pick his pumpkin, but luckily I did get a picture!
Here’s my three cuties posing for me at the end of September:
We went to our branch’s chili and trunk-or-treating party and had a great time:
We carved pumpkins! The kids begged me for weeks wanting to carve them, so they were so excited when it was actually time. They each drew what they wanted on their pumpkin (or paper in Zane’s case), and Ryan carved it. He did great!
Here are our pumpkins out on Halloween night:
Cora got to go trick-or-treating in downtown Papillion one morning with some friends:
I got to help in Hyrum’s “Harvest party,” and it was so fun to see him in that environment! He is one sweet boy. He had a snack, made a craft, and played games:
On actual Halloween, we made our traditional Halloween pizzas. Here’s Cora’s:
Here’s Hyrum’s:
And the family pizzas (with 2 cute helpers who kept trying to hide from the camera!):
Here’s mine and Ryan’s pumpkins (we didn’t have time to carve them until Halloween morning- I loved having Halloween on Saturday!):
Here are my three ninjas from Ninjago- Zane (as Zane), Ryan (as Cole), and Hyrum (as Lloyd Garmadon):
Here is a sad Ariel and her Flounder:
Zane (he would not keep a headwrap on):

and Cora:
We had a great time trick-or-treating with a friend, and the kids ended up with plenty of candy! Cora was done when we were still a few streets from home and Hyrum wanted to get home quicker because his hands were cold- ah, the joy of a chilly Halloween! I loved it The next day, when I told the kids Halloween was over, Cora didn’t want to accept it. She said, “this was my best Halloween ever!” They are already planning their costumes for next year!
