Cora just turned 5, and she had a great birthday!
Mindi visited the weekend before her birthday, and she brought her a fun present (Anna diary and Princess books):
She got to choose her breakfast, and she chose Belle and Moana cereal:
Then she got to open her presents (which she had been asking to do for weeks, and which she says was her favorite part of her birthday). She got two princess Cora books, a Belle outfit, a Rapunzel dress-up, a pink sequin pillow, a pretend make-up kit, a princess pillow and princess toys for Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler, and a horse for her doll, Ginger:

In the morning she got to do bubbles (and Hyrum didn’t have school that day, so Cora thought he got to stay home because it was her birthday):
Then we went to Claire’s and got her ears pierced. She’s been asking to get her ears pierced for probably six months now, so we decided she could get them when she turned five. Even when I told her that it would hurt, she said she still wanted them! Cora told me she wasn’t going to cry when they did it. I told her it would be ok to cry, but she was right, she didn’t cry!
We got Little Caeser’s pizza and crazy bread for lunch and rented a Barbie movie from Red Box, so she had a great afternoon too!
She had dance on her birthday, so she brought Starbursts to give her dance class, and the teacher even brought her up front and her whole class sang, “Happy Birthday,” to her.
After dance she got some ice cream with candles in it and we sang to her again:
Ryan had to work all night on Cora’s birthday, so we did her birthday dinner the next day when he could come. She requested plain butterfly noodles, meatballs, watermelon, and pink lemonade for her special dinner. Then she wanted brownies as her “cake” for our little family party. We sang to her again, and I think she was one happy girl!
I love my little five-year-old! She is such a kind friend, beautiful, a girly girl, a great helper, wants to be just like me, well-behaved, smart, loves math, and she just loves to dance and sing and put on little shows for us.
