Zane sure does like to make funny faces:
Ivy has started to arch her back so much that she looks like a little C:
Cora came downstairs after we had already put her in bed telling us she couldn’t sleep. We told her to read some of her Princess in Black books to help calm her down. She said, “I don’t like to read those books, they make me fall asleep!”
Zane was so tired one day of our vacation, that he fell asleep on Ryan’s shoulders!
The kids like Ivy so much, they like to give her toys:
Sometimes you just gotta call your friends:
Ivy rolled over from her tummy to her back this month!
On ‘book day’ from our summer fun list, we made a big fort and read books all morning:
We also made a craft to go with the book, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”:
Sometimes, in the summer, you have to take all four kids to Target:
Hyrum has been cruising through reading all of the Harry Potter books. We were trying to tell him that there aren’t wizards and witches in real life, but his retort was, “I could be a wizard, the cat winked at me (*Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler’s cat*). I’ll find out when I’m eleven.”
In the car on our road trip, we were playing a ‘would you rather’ game, when Hyrum made up his own: “would you rather be Harry Potter or a blade of grass?”
Hyrum bought a fidget spinner with his own money, and he was so proud:
The kids have been really into The Lego Batman Movie this month, especially Zane. He loves to run around saying, “Na na na na na, Batman!” and then punch you.
Another ‘summer fun’ list item- go to a movie. We went to Cars 3!
Ivy’s whole body scrunches when she smiles!
Like most of our other kids at this age, Ivy has a little mullet on the back of her head:
Zane gathered all of Aunty Mindi’s teddy bears and drug them all over her house, and then would lay on them:
Another ‘summer fun’ list item- make homemade ice cream! And we actually made homemade ice cream cones, too (though the kids wouldn’t eat those):
Ivy is sooo ticklish!
Ivy loves to watch screens, and she will contort her body in crazy ways to try to be able to watch a show with the other kids!
Everyone in our family loves Ivy so much! They all want to hold her, and lay by her, and talk to her, and get her a binkie, and just be with her. Just announcing her presence can stop a fight amongst the other kids.
