Donut day!
When Ivy is on her tummy, she prefers having her head turned over her left shoulder. Even if you move her head to the other side, she immediately returns it to the left!
Zane knows his colors! And I know he knows his colors because he also got his first eye exam!
Zane also had his first dance this month at a friend’s wedding reception. Aren’t they cute?
Hyrum made this trail of arrows one night to help him remember a very important thing- check the price of Sun and Moon Pokedex in the morning.
This month Zane decided to pick up all the terrible habits two-year olds get all at once: biting, hitting, throwing toys, and spitting. It’s been great fun.
Ivy likes to really play on her play mat now, and will be happy there for awhile. She grabs and bats at the toys and will even talk to them!
Cora had her very first dance recital this month! She was so cute up on the stage- she knew most of the steps and was smiling so big the whole time! She did a tap dance to the song, “9 to 5.”
Ivy loves Mommy. I am her favorite person in the whole world, and as soon as she sees me, she isn’t really happy with whoever else is holding her.
Ivy also has a large head. Her height and weight are around 10th percentile, and her head is in the 98th percentile. She must have lots of brains in there!
This summer the punishment for fighting has been that everyone must go outside. Here’s how that looks:
And sometimes punishments end with me finding a little note on my pillow when I go to bed that night (sometimes there are nice ones too):
Batman vs. Superman! And a curtsy from Anna:
Ivy has been talking and cooing a lot lately, and it’s so cute! She’s also started scooting her body 90 degrees from where I left her.
We celebrated Ryan’s 32nd birthday this month! He got a backpack, a shirt, and some other fun things Instead of a cheesecake party like we usually do for Ryan’s birthday, he had a video game party with some of his friends after the kids were in bed.
We also had a peach blondie cheesecake to celebrate:
The difference between brothers and sisters (also- matching!):
As part of our summer fun list, we had cooking camp this month! The kids got to make chocolate chip cookies, macaroni and cheese, and a few other things all by themselves!
Another thing on the summer fun list- movie day! Complete with popcorn and candy:
Cora started reading BOB books this month! Her reading is definitely progressing. She also has been having some nightmares that make her scared to go to bed at night (poor thing). And, she sings in the bathroom!
Hair cuts! Before:
And after:
Buckets with water in them sure can entertain little kids for a good chunk of time:
Fun at the zoo!
We even got to see a baby giraffe:
Cora can be very stubborn at dinner time. We only require the kids to take one bite of the main dish of dinner, but sometimes that one little bite takes Cora 20 minutes to over an hour to consume. Her faces while she whines about it are pretty entertaining though:
