Ivy’s first ponytail!
Zane almost always calls himself “Zaney-pooh”. As in, “me not cute, me Zaney-pooh!”
Ivy started to crawl on her knees a little this month and has learned to cruise and finally likes to hold her bottle!
Zane tried to boycott naps for awhile, so I would sometimes park somewhere and just let him sleep if he fell asleep in the car.
Zane sure does love to take pictures of me with my phone!
Hyrum was very angry with Ryan and I one evening because we wouldn’t let him play any more video games, so he told us, “I’m just going to lay here and be quiet until you let me play!” We thought, “Oh no! Please don’t do that!” lol.
Also, first (and so far only) snowman of the season!
Ivy loves her Daddy soooo much. He is by far her favorite. When he gets home she’ll crawl right to him and follow him around until he picks her up. If he’s holding her and I try to take her, she pulls away. One time she even cried when Ryan passed her off to me after he’d been holding her!
Zane started Sunbeams at church this month and he’s doing pretty good, though he doesn’t sit very well. He pops up and down all through sharing time and lesson time. He also loves to pretend to spray people everywhere he goes.
Ryan and Zane went on their special date to the library (where Ryan read him lots of books) and to Freddy’s. They had a great time!
Ivy started playing peek-a-boo on her own now behind blankets and curtains and she also learned to clap! Every time she claps we clap back and say, “yay Ivy!” and she claps again. It’s one of her favorite games.
The kids all planned to wear hooded shirts one day, and then they planned out the picture they wanted to take while they were all wearing hoods, and here’s the result:
We have had SO much sickness around our house since mid-November. About every other week someone in our house has been sick with something. We’ve had hand foot and mouth, strep, flu, stomach bugs, colds, headaches, and pulled back muscles. It’s pretty hard to get anything done or go anywhere when someone is either sick or recovering from being sick for three months.
The wonders of owning a straightener! Natural hair on the left, straightened hair on the right:
Zane asked me this month, “Ivy my best friend?” I told him she was, and so he says it every few days now, that Ivy is his best friend, then gives her a big (not entirely welcome) hug.
The kids celebrated their 100th Day of School, and Cora’s class got to dress up like they were 100. Cora really doesn’t like to dress up, so this was the most she’d let me do. Zane liked the glasses though!
Here’s Ivy, just waiting for her Daddy to stop working and come out and play with her:
Hyrum learned to whistle and shuffle cards this month. He’s growing up so much! His whistling did get a little excessive though, so Ryan had to ask him to tone it down.
Hyrum had his music recital this month and he did awesome! They sang songs all about food, and he had a spoken line that referred to how the song was like Jimmy John's delivery freaky fast!
Zane started potty training again this month, and it went slightly better than last time. Definitely still a work in progress.
Cora got to go to a friend’s house and I was telling her that they might get to play with make-up a little and she said excitedly, “Goody! I was born for make-up!”
Cora started gymnastics this month and LOVES it. Part of me really thinks this may be what she’s meant to do- but that could just be the proud mama in me!
