Ivy learned to say, “hi-yuh” while smacking someone from her siblings this month… Not my favorite thing for her to learn, but it is pretty cute in pint size.
Hyrum and Cora did a fun run for their school’s fundraiser this month! They both raised a good amount of money and had a great time running their laps! Cora was so focused she never even looked up at me! Hyrum found his best friend and they ran together the whole time:
Ryan and I had a little lunch/ice cream outing with the two little ones while the older kids were in school one day (to celebrate the end of his semester). It was fun to hang out in Dundee in the beautiful weather!
Zane likes to tell me, “Mommy?….I prolly love you.” Melts. My. Heart.
One of our good friends here in Papillion invited Cora and I to go to the ballet! We had a fun time getting dressed up and watching the beautiful dancing (Midsummer Night’s Dream). Cora liked the first half, though she told me, “I couldn’t figure out the story!” She fell asleep on my lap for the entire second half, but she still said she had fun
Cora was whining about having to eat her one bite of food we make her try at dinner every night. When we told her to just eat it, she said, “But it takes less than a day!” Why, yes. Yes, it does.
Zane always calls toilet paper “wrapping paper”
Hyrum finished his private swim lessons this month! I think he made some great progress with this, and I can finally see the light at the end of the non-swimming tunnel. Also, he made a giant airplane out of his fun run sign:
Tracing shadows at school:
Ivy has moved out of her stranger-danger phase, and just really loves everyone now.
Everyone at our house loves to read, and I LOVE it!
I love the springtime view out my windows:
One of my goals this spring was to see the tulips at Lauritzen Gardens, because I remember just loving the Tulip Festival in Utah. This wasn’t nearly as cool as that, but it was definitely a beautiful day filled with beautiful nature! Zane’s favorite part of the outing was playing in the sprinklers that were everywhere
Zane’s new favorite superhero is the Hulk. He likes to say, “Hulk smash!” and then destroy/hit things. I must say, I think that Zane and the Hulk do share some personality traits. He can be such a sweet boy one minute, then pretty destructive the next.
My dad came into town for a quick stop one weekend in May to see the sample display of Wild Willy’s Fireworks. It was a bit cold, but we still had fun!
I had a great Mother’s Day this year!
These two are getting to be better playmates, and it’s adorable!
The truth about what happens when Mommy is sick- the kids crawl all over me and take pictures of me trying to rest:
Children’s Museum visit with just the younger two while the older two were in school. This was really the first time I let Ivy out much, and she loved it!
I remember trying on and walking around in my Mom’s dress shoes when I was little too:
Zane was trying to pay me a compliment the other day (I think), and he told me, “You’re the best mom in the world in our family.”
Zane had his first opportunity to give a talk in primary this month, and he seemed totally on board until the moment came to actually talk in the microphone. We stood for a few minutes with me trying to get him to speak or to let me say it, before I finally just gave his short talk and we both sat down. I’m imagining this shyness will change in a year or so.
Cora is such a sweet girl. She likes to write nice notes to her friends, and mostly everyone in her class, filled with compliments. One mom even told me how her daughter had been feeling like she had no friends, but she got a nice note from Cora and felt much better.
Somersaults!
After school got out, the first full day of summer was spent as a video game day, and the kids sure loved it!
CF appointments with three kids is no joke!
Cora made these notes for her door when she was playing doctor:
Cora is getting ready:
The doctor is not ready to talk right now:
Patients can come in:
