We love sitting on our back deck the days before the 4th, because we get to see multiple fireworks displays going off at once, as well as seeing the fireflies in the field behind our house:
We had a great 4th of July this year! My parents were in town, and we invited a couple families to celebrate with. Here’s our traditional berry trifle:
The kids played in kiddie pools in the backyard while we waited for fireworks (it was a super hot day!):
We didn’t let Ivy down to the pools, but she got to play with her water table up on the deck:
Firework time! Ivy did much better with the fireworks this year, though sometimes she wanted to get too close!

A storm blew up super quickly before we’d even made it through half of our stash, so we finished the rest up the next night:
We love living in Papillion, but especially on the 4th of July!
