We I was making dinner one night, Zane asked me what we were having for dinner. I told him turkey burgers, and with a really excited face he said, “cookie burgers!?”
Hyrum and Cora (and Zane) all really love baby Ivy:
Ivy has definitely found her toddler stage, climbing on tables and getting into the cereal:
Ivy hanging out with Daddy, trying to be just like him:
We did the #BYU50 scavenger hunt this year, and it was actually pretty fun! We headed toward Omaha, knowing the flag would probably be deposited there somewhere, got and ate pizza and ice cream in the car while we waited, then rushed to the WW2 Memorial once we saw the posted picture! We were maybe the 5th or 6th family there, which I think is pretty good!
They have these hilarious heads at Walmart, and Cora had to try one on:
I asked Cora what 5 words she would use to describe herself, and she said: “beautiful (that was the only one she could think of for awhile), kind, helpful, and friendly.” I don’t think she ever thought of a fifth one.
Sisters!
The kids were pretty worn out after camping in the back yard with Daddy:
We find interesting critters around our house these days. Ryan found a snake he showed to the kids, and I found this enormous spider in the garage that freaked me out:
We had some volunteer corn plants sprout up in our backyard this year (brought by birds eating the leftover corn and then dropping the cob in our yard). Ryan insisted on letting them grow, and we’ve actually got a few ears going! However, it’s dent corn, so we can’t eat it, but it was kind of fun watching it grow:
The kids like to take pictures of us:
Zane is getting close to dropping his nap, but every time we skip it, he seems to fall asleep somewhere else before bedtime:
This one was on my lap at Subway:
Ivy has been learning so many more words lately, though her first two-word phrase has been, “Oh Daddy”- something the kids say when Ryan is being a ridiculous Dad and Ivy picked it up. So cute!
Playing a piano duet:
Ivy LOVES napkins and is always trying to steal them off the table to wipe her hands for the millionth time.
She has also really started to like cuddling baby dolls and stuffed animals, and wearing jewelry!
Cora’s camera work:
We had our 11th wedding anniversary this month! We celebrated with a date in July, but also had a dinner copycat of our reception the day after our anniversary when Ryan got home from New Orleans. It ended with chocolate covered strawberries and beignets!
The kids love their Daddy:
I chopped my hair this month! It feels awesome!
When I asked Hyrum five words to describe himself, he said, “kind, helpful, imaginative, cool, good personality.”
Hyrum and I went on a date this month! He chose to go to Krypton Comic to spend some of his money on Pokémon GX cards, and then he chose Panera bread because he loves their mac and cheese. I love this boy!
Ivy is so silly! While Ryan was giving kids a bath, she gathered all of Cora’s headbands and put them on her waist like belts!
If Ivy sees a sucker, she will unwrap it as fast as she can and pop it in her mouth:
Ivy loves to get out the old baby tub and sit in it and rock away:
Cuties in sunglasses!
