My parents and sister arrived the evening before Christmas Eve, so we had a lot of fun with them over Christmas!
On Christmas Eve morning, we baked and decorated sugar cookies:
Then that night we had our traditional homemade pretzels and chocolate milk as a picnic by the Christmas tree, then we acted out the nativity. Ryan was the narrator, and Mindi was the angel:
Cora was Mary, and Hyrum was Joseph:
My mom was the shepherd and Ivy was a sheep:
Me, my dad, and Zane were the wise men:
Then my parents gave the kids their Santa sacks (something they give out to the kids at their house in Arizona every year):
Then we each opened our new Christmas ornament. Ryan and I got one from Nauvoo and a Dia De Los Muertos one from Mexico, Hyrum got a swimming ornament, Cora got a Beanie Boo unicorn ornament, Zane got a Black Panther ornament, and Ivy got a Baby Shark ornament.
Then we opened our matching pajamas!
The next morning, the kids were up bright and early to look through their stockings and open their presents! Ivy got a baby Elsa doll from Santa:
Zane got a Paw Patrol Command Center:
Cora got Beanie Boos:
Hyrum got a nerf gun:
And the rest of us got fun stuff too!
We had a delicious beef Chateaubriand for dinner, then headed out to do our Christmas light scavenger hunt!
I think my team won the light hunt, Ryan thinks his team won. I guess we should have set more specific rules! It was a really great Christmas, and extra special to have my parents and sister with us to celebrate!
