The kids love taking random pictures of me:
This month Zane has insisted we call him either Zane or Zebra. He also told me at dinnertime one night when he saw I was making chili, "but I don't like cold!"
Fun times at the library:
Cora really loves her blonde hair. She calls it "golden blonde." When I told her that it would probably turn darker as she got older, she was pretty upset. I then told her the secret that most adult women with blonde hair actually dye it that color, and so she calmed down a bit and decided she could do that too.
We got these Plasmacars for Christmas, and the kids have been riding them around and around the kitchen ever since:
Everyone loves to watch Daddy play video games:
We went mini golfing at a place called Prehistoric Putt-Putt, and the kids had a great time! Ryan and I had different philosophies on how it should go- Ryan wanted the kids to learn to play it right, and I just wanted to get through as quickly as possible since we had a lot of people behind us, but we figured it out:
At the end, Ryan got his ball in the really hard spot, so he won a free game of mini golf!
Matching Sunday outfits from Grandma and Grandpa Martin:
We got a collection of Calvin and Hobbes for Christmas, and Hyrum has been reading them all over and over again. He also likes chewing on the ends of his glasses while he reads:
Beard shaving time!
Hyrum wrote an ABC book about our family, and some of the entries made me laugh, like "Dad is the silly master," "Video games, everyone likes them but Mom," "Mom keeps everything under control," and "N- our Name is long."
I took Zane and Ivy to an open gym one morning, and they had a fun time in the foam pit and on the trampolines:
We have a membership at our local community center now, and it has a pool, so we went there a couple times this month:
Dinosaurs driving a giant robot!!
We had a few snow days this month, and the kids spent some time drawing, reading, and playing in the kitchen:
And of course we played in the snow as much as possible! We went sledding:
We built a snowman, the kids build forts and had a snowball fight:
We tried out the indoor playground at the community center as well:
More snow! And more snow fun!
Ryan and I went on a date this month to see the faculty of UNO's music school perform, and it was amazing!!
I also went with a group of friends to the flower show they hold every year in a cathedral in Omaha. It was so beautiful:
We celebrated Chinese New Year by making some Chinese lanterns and dragons and eating some delicious Chinese food:
Ryan and the kids had a taste test to find the best tasting Oreo. Double-stuf was the general favorite!
Ivy calls marshmallows, "hotsmallows" and it's freaking adorable. I think it comes from having mashmallows in hot chocolate. She also called candy canes, "candy cans" all winter and that's also super cute. She also loves to make up little songs and is constantly singing.
Ivy loves this Elsa hooded towel:
Zane is such a sweet big brother- he will often comfort Ivy when she is sad:
Me and the littles had a quick trip to the Children's Museum one morning with some friends!
Hat day at Zane's preschool:
Ryan and I went on a group date this month organized by my friend. Each couple sent in some funny YouTube videos in different categories, and then we all watched them and voted on the winners! Ryan and I almost swept the whole thing! We won three out of four golden hippos. It was a really fun night:
Ryan made sure to display our winnings in a prominent location:
