We went to the Oregon coast with the Schuetzlers in July! We stayed in a big beach house in Rockaway, Oregon, just across the street from the beautiful Oregon beach. Our first night we got there, we all head to get out to the beach right away:
The cousins liked to have breakfast together in the mornings:
The first morning we all went to the Tillamook factory, where we learned how they make their delicious cheese:
They had some interactive exhibits that the kids had fun with:
That afternoon we played out on the beach:
The kids found lots of cool creatures, like a sea star, a crab, and a sea worm:They also made a big sand castle that they hoped to watch get washed away in the waves later that day:
That evening, after dinner, we flew kites:
Our beach house backed to this train, and the kids (and Ryan), loved to go out and wave to it whenever it went by:
The next day we went to Fort Clatsop, where Lewis and Clark stayed for one winter:
We also saw the wreck of the Peter Iredale that can be seen on the beach:
We loved this pretty overlook on the way back to the beach house:
The kids really enjoyed the beach house, especially the arcade games in the garage!
Pretty flowers at the beach house:
The next day we went to the aquarium in Newport:After the aquarium, we split ways- some of us went to Depoe Bay, but we stopped to see an old lighthouse in Newport before we left:
In Depoe Bay, we watched them gut and filet fish people had just caught out on the ocean, went shopping, and just enjoyed the views:
Some of the others stayed in Newport and went to Ripley's Believe it or Not, where they saw some crazy things!
They saw some wax figures that were not that great, like The Rock:
We all had a fun day!
