We had a few last great adventures in August to close out our summer. I took the kids to Farm Country one morning, where they loved riding the ponies:
And playing in the barn:
And going on a wagon ride:
A different morning we went on a hike with our neighbors to Rocky Mouth Falls. We didn't really know until we were leaving how bad the air had gotten:
But the hike was short and sweet, with a cute waterfall at the end:A different day we went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity:
They had a special maze/puzzle exhibit that the kids enjoyed:
Zane and Hyrum had fun putting their names on the marquee:
The kids all put on a great puppet show:
And of course, there was a lot of time spent at the water table:
We decided that this was finally the year that we would take our kids camping, in a tent, not in our backyard! We went to a spot on Mirror Lake Highway, and it was beautiful! We started down one Thursday evening and got pizza for dinner at a nearby restaurant. Then we pitched our tent in this beautiful spot and had some s'mores:
The kids did great, even with the air mattresses losing air throughout the night. It was amazing to see so many stars in the middle of the night!
Our camping spot had a cool little stream the kids had fun exploring:

It was pretty cold when we woke up, so we were glad to have brought warm things for the kids:
After Provo Falls, we went to Mirror Lake. It was beautiful, but the kids had had enough, and I hadn't had much sleep, so we only hiked a little bit of the way around:
Near the end of August we took the Front Runner train up to SLC. It was a pretty fun trip!
In SLC, we went to the Discovery Gateway children's museum. The kids had a blast!
Little honey bees in their comb, and Cora the mail lady:
We also got lunch at the Gateway, where they had this fun mural and some swings at a table!

I sure do love adventuring with this crew!
