January 2024

January was a great month! We started off with taking Cora to the temple for her very first time. It was a special experience, and I was grateful we got to do it together as a family. We took the kids to Cinnaholic afterwards to celebrate:

Painting nails with my cute girls:

Fun with Q-tips:

We took individual dates with all the kids before school started again in January. Hyrum and I went to TopGolf then to Jurassic Tacos. He won some of the golf games and I won some of the golf games:

Ivy and I went to Hang Time for her date:

After Hang Time we went to iHop, where she got this fancy cotton candy Wonka-themed lemonade:

Ryan took Zane on his date to a kid, Wonka-themed escape room. Zane really loved it!

Afterwards they went to iHop:

Ryan took Cora to Hang Time as well, but mostly to do the adventure course. They were both so brave!

They went to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner after their adventure.

The kids had fun getting the balloons from New Year's Eve to stick to the ceiling:

Over the break we went sledding one day at Tibble Fork. It was kind of icy, but still fun:

Over winter break we also went to a BYU basketball game. We got on the Jumbo-Tron multiple times, saw Cosmo, had cougar tails, cheered on one of Ryan's students who was a player in the game, and Cora even caught a T-shirt!

We got some fish this month- Tetras and Loaches. We also had some fish die, but Ryan and the kids are enjoying the fish that we still have:

We had another snow day this month, and the kids made this awesome snowman!

Zane had oral surgery this month to remove an extra tooth he had in his gums in the front. It went fine, and his recovery was mostly smooth except for him disliking the stitches in his mouth:

We had to document the card Ivy made for Ryan after he got tenure:

Zane loves finding Mini Wheats that are stuck together in the box:

One weekend this month I took the girls for a quick overnight stay near Weber High School. They had forecasted a bunch of snow, and Ivy had to be at the cheer competition really early in the morning, so we decided to just get a hotel and leave the evening before. I took the girls to Chuck-A-Rama, and Ivy loved eating the green jello there:

The next morning we were up bright and early to do the girls' hair and makeup for the cheer competition, then we headed over!

Ivy and her team did amazing, the best they've ever done. Her team even won Grand Champion of the morning- the first time a Tiny team has ever done that!

Cora's team competed later that same day, and they did awesome too! They got first place in their competitive division:

FHE one night included an object lesson about being led by the Spirit:

Fun with my Valentine's decorations:

Zane got to do a poster about himself for school this month:

I got to take Hyrum to one of his swim meets this month, and getting there early one Saturday morning there was a beautiful sunrise:

Hyrum did awesome!

I took Cora this month to her junior high registration night. She had a great time meeting up with and going around the school with friends. She is beyond excited to go there!

Hyrum was also at the junior high registration night as part of his duties on PAC (Performing Arts Council). He got to show kids how to play a cello and try to get them interested to join orchestra next year:

I took the younger two kids to Classic Skating this month for an elementary school family activity. They had a great time skating with friends:

I am now on the Relief Society activity committee for our ward (I help plan activities for the women in our church). We had an activity to help decorate journals and we were so glad that it was well attended:

Ivy celebrated her 100th day of school this month by dressing like an adorable old lady. They also made a picture where they aged her up, and she looks so much like my Grandma!

Ivy had the chance to perform at a high school basketball half time this month, and she and her team did amazing!

The next day both girls had a cheer competition. Ivy was in the morning again, and her team did great! They got first place!

Cora's team also did amazing and got first place!

I went out with some friends one night to a bracelet making place and out to dinner. We had a great time!

We were all sick at the end of this month (except Cora), so Ivy laid down for days without brushing her hair and ended up with some hair craziness. We got it all combed out though, eventually:

Cora helped me arrange some flowers this month, and she did a great job!

We went to a school spirit night this month, where Cora got to hang with her favorite teacher and student council friends:

We had a fun and full January!
