We had a fun Christmas Eve this year! We started the morning with some ice skating at Peaks Arena in Provo. Pretty much all the kids can skate on their own now!
After skating we went to get ice cream at SubZero. Ryan saw B-Money there, a throwback to his early college days, and they had these Nitro Balls that we tried. The balls were so cold that they smoked when you put them in your mouth. It felt kind of weird but was so fun!
Then we came home and decorated sugar cookies with the missionaries, who also gave us a great spiritual message.
The kids decorated some great cookies for Santa:
That evening we had our traditional homemade pretzels with a fruit and veggie tree:
Then we acted out the nativity- with Hyrum as a shepherd, Ivy as a sheep, Cora as the angel, Zane as Joseph, Tricia as Mary, and Ryan as the narrator. Here's the shepherd being "sore afraid:"
Then we opened up our special ornaments! Hyrum got a "New Driver" ornament since he got his license this year:
Cora got a braces ornament because she got her braces on this year:
Zane got a soccer player since he chose soccer to be his main sport this year:
Ivy got a baptism ornament in honor of her baptism:
Then we opened up our matching Grinch pajamas and went to bed!
The next morning the kids had a great time opening their presents. Ivy got a Minky blanket from Santa:
Zane got a new, sturdier soccer goal:
Cora got some shirts and a Dandy hoodie:
Hyrum got a Cosmere RPG:
Hyrum also loved this tiny violin he got in his stocking:
We spent the rest of the day using our presents, having a delicious Christmas dinner, doing our Christmas lights scavenger hunt, and watching Ernest Saves Christmas! It was such a great day, and we loved being together!
