During the cheer season, both of Cora's cheer teams qualified for Summit, which is the most well-known national cheer competition! Summit is held in Orlando, FL every year, so I got to accompany her on this trip. We started out with an evening flight to the Orlando airport:
Once we got into the Orlando airport, getting our rental car was a nightmare that took hours, but we survived and made it to our hotel: Coronado Springs Resort.
The next morning Cora had practice with her cheer teams at our hotel, where we got a quick breakfast:
Then Cora and I headed to Animal Kingdom for lots of fun!
We rode all the roller coasters and the best rides, saw a few character walking around, and generally tried to stay out of the heat as much as we could:
Cora's favorite ride was Expedition Everest, so we rode it a few times!
Perhaps the most delicious thing we ate the whole trip was in Animal Kingdom- this cookie dough ice cream sandwich:
We rode Kali River Rapids and got soaked right before we headed back to the hotel!
Back at the hotel, Cora went swimming with some cheer friends and then they watched a movie in our hotel room until bedtime.
The next morning we slept in, and then Cora went to lunch with her cheer friends in Downtown Disney:
Then we went back to the hotel to get Cora all ready for the first day of her cheer competition! Here we are on the bus on the way over to the Wide World of Sports complex where the competition was:
Ready for comp!
Both of her teams did great, and they both ended up making it into finals! They competed really late, but they didn't let that stop them. Cora even saved one of their stunts by holding her flyer up when she was about to fall backwards!
The next day we went to Magic Kingdom bright and early:
Autopia (Cora's a crazy driver):
We rode tons of fun rides, and Cora even got to ride a few with cheer friends:
Small World:
Tron, which was my favorite ride of the whole trip!
We rode Space Mountain a few times as well, since Cora loved it!
We had lots of yummy treats in Magic Kingdom as well:
The next day was Mother's Day, and since Cora was competing later that day, we couldn't go to the parks, so we slept in and then went to a late breakfast at iHop:
Then Cora took me to a movie:
Then we were back at the cheer competition! Both of Cora's teams did amazing again! Her J3 team got third, and her J2 team was top 5!
I had promised Cora that if she read all of the Harry Potter books before our trip that I would take her to Universal Studios (where they have a Harry Potter-themed land). She did it, so the next day we started off the day at Islands of Adventure:
Hagrid's motorcycle ride was really cool:
The ride inside Hogwarts still makes me sick, but I pushed through:
Butterbeer and chocolate frogs!
The Jurassic Park land had Cora's favorite ride of the trip- the Velocicoaster, which we rode a few times. I was almost too scared to go, but I did it and it ended up being really fun for both of us:
We rode a bunch of the water rides at once and got soaked, but it felt nice in the heat:
Then it started to pour rain, but we didn't let it stop us! Cora went to the Once'ler's house:
We rode the Hogwarts Express (both ways):
Diagon Alley:
We ended the day with a giant milkshake from The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium:
Our last morning we went to Epcot:
We waited in line forever for Test Track:
We rode a lot of other rides too! And we did some shopping:
We took some fun pictures and ate some fun treats since it was their Flower and Garden Festival:
Then we headed to the airport to catch our flight home. It was a great trip!
