Hyrum turned three a few weeks ago! And we did a lot of celebrating in honor of it :)
This is how Hyrum shows how old he is on his hand:
We had a birthday party for Hyrum and his friends at our house the Saturday before his birthday. I made him a pretty cool cake, considering my minimal skills. He picked the cake out of a few options off of Pinterest:
I added little toy cars from the Pixar movie Cars to the road for the actual party. The cake was chocolate, which was Hyrum’s choice . We had a bunch of Hyrum’s favorite snacks for the party too (colored Goldfish, cheese sticks, Cars and Dora fruit snacks, and grapes). He also picked an ice cream from the store, and he chose Pumpkin! Seemed like a weird choice to me, but it tasted great :)
Each kid at the party got a little Hot Wheels car when they came in. I made little car race tracks out of fun noodles for the party, and the kids had fun racing their cars down.
We also did a craft decorating white lunch bags by driving toy cars through paint onto them, but I forgot to get a picture.
Some of the kids really crowded around for the cake part!
At the end we had a Lightning McQueen piñata. None of the kids were able to bust it open, but one of the dads there was able to bust it open. The kids then used their bags they had decorated to gather their candy.
That same weekend we drove to Mesa for a friend’s baby blessing and Hyrum got sung to and another cake from his grandparents and some other family. He got an awesome dinosaur set from his Grandma and Grandpa Martin that he loves!
On Hyrum’s actual birthday I made him brownies (the dessert he is most likely to eat- though I think he only ate one bite) and we sang to him again.
He got a cool Batman helicopter and space ship from Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler that he loves too!
We bought Hyrum a tricycle for his birthday that he can’t quite ride yet, but he loves it just the same.
It is still hard to believe my little boy is three! He still seems like my little baby to me. I sure do love this kid!
