Hyrum saw a speck of dark brown food on the lid of a pot and was a little worried that it was a fly. After Ryan convinced him it wasn’t a fly, he asked Hyrum what it was. Hyrum said, “it’s not a fly, it’s a pterodactyl!” And for some reason that made him much easier about the whole thing.
We had the missionaries over for dinner one night, and as soon as they came, Hyrum disappeared. When we were all sitting down to dinner we tried to call Hyrum in, he said he wouldn’t come. We told him the missionaries were here and it was time for dinner, but he said, “I don’t like the missionaries!” and ran away. We all had a good laugh about that :)
Hyrum needs me to assure him every time I put him in bed that the rocking horse in his room isn’t a monster, and that the horse wants to be his friend.
Hyrum makes Cora laugh, and is pretty much the only one who can make her do so easily. Sometimes he just has to look at her and she’ll laugh.
We got the jumper out for Cora this month, and she is definitely a different kid than Hyrum. As soon as we put Hyrum in it, he was bouncing away and didn’t really stop the whole time he was in there. We put Cora in it and she kind of rests in it and plays with the toys a bit, but not really any bouncing.
Hyrum loves to learn. I never have to make him sit down and go through letters or writing or reading or anything. He loves to do those things! There are so many times during the day where I think, ‘oh, Hyrum’s learning something here’ and it was an activity he wanted to do.
I now know why there aren’t as many pictures of just Tyler as there are of Ryan. As soon as I get the camera out, Hyrum jumps right in! I don’t mind, they’re both adorable kids :)
Cora loves her feet, and has even fallen asleep with her feet in her mouth.
Cora is rolling all over the place. I’ll set her on a blanket on one side of the room and then a few minutes later she’ll end up on the other side!
Ryan told Hyrum to say, “Mommy, you’re being a pill!” And then Hyrum came and told me, “Mommy, you’re being meds!” Because I always say that we all take our meds in the morning, even though mine is a vitamin pill.
Cora makes a sort of growling sound right before she goes in for a big bite of whatever’s nearest- usually someone’s hand or head.
Hyrum has taken to being a dog and bringing me things in his mouth:
Me: Should I tickle you? Hyrum: Tickling’s not nice, kisses are better
Gotta love Sunday afternoon naps:
Ryan was smiling big at Hyrum when Hyrum was sulking and Hyrum said, “I’m not a camera, Daddy!”
We are potty training around here, hence the pictures of Hyrum with no pants on. He is doing pretty well, getting better at it slowly but surely. It’s not my favorite thing, but it will be nice when he is fully potty trained!
