November 2013

I don’t have many pictures this month since my camera broke, but I have a new one now, so I’ll have more next month!

Cora likes to do a roll call for our family: “Momma, Dada, Ah-wa (Hyrum)”. She’s also started doing two word phrases like, “ow Hyrum” telling on Hyrum, “Hyrum baby” pointing to a picture of Hyrum as a baby, and “Momma go.”

We made some delicious caramel apples with a friend this November- M&M, peanut, Oreo, and pecan with either milk or semi-sweet chocolate. SO yummy!

Cora calls my phone “hello” and loves to hand it to me every time she sees it.

Cora is in full-on toddler mode. I had my oatmeal all nicely cooling down one morning and I slipped away for a couple minutes. I came back to this:

Oatmeal everywhere (including in my water). She is trouble!

Cora is now VERY attached to her “baby” and blanket. She even needs them to sleep.

Hyrum was briefly obsessed with The Croods and then Despicable Me. He watched them over and over and over!

Hyrum was in his first primary program this month (I was also in charge of it- yikes!). He was a typical Sunbeam, not really paying attention most of the time, but he did have his part memorized and told me when he came to the mike, “I don’t need help.” He also held his hands like a book for almost all of the songs, probably because the primary chorister did that to help them remember one of the words in the first song and it stuck. Silly boy! We also had to bribe him to wear a vest and spike his hair that day, because we wanted him to look cute and he didn’t.

Here is Hyrum’s rock collection (all collected from our backyard gravel, lol):

We cheered on the Tour de Tucson bike riders in the pouring rain- and it was awesome (the course has a part about a 1/2 mile away from our house)! Ryan and Hyrum even drove down to the finish line to watch the winner:

Funny Hyrum sayings: “When me and Cora grow up we can go on a date with Mommy and Daddy, and then we can all go!” (this was when we were dropping them off at a friend’s house so we could go on a date). One day in the car he noticed the very blond hair on his arms because of the sunlight through the window. He said “Look, Mommy, I have hair on my arms! I’m becoming a Daddy!”

We went to North Dakota for Thanksgiving! But before we went, we spent a morning with my family in Mesa:

On the plane and in the car, to grandmother’s house we go!

Grandma made some candy turkeys with Hyrum for Thanksgiving dinner:

Cora and Hyrum got hang out with their cousins and Aunt and Uncle:

Where was Cora during Thanksgiving dinner? She was done about 5 minutes into it, so I let her down. About 10 minutes later I started wondering what she was up to and found this:

Yep, she had unwrapped lots of chocolates and was eating them. A feast of her own, I guess.

Later that week the Schuetzlers had their annual Festival of Lights (aka they turned the lights on on their house)!

At our house we did our thankful tree this year. My favorite ones were those that Hyrum wrote- by himself (I just helped him with spelling). I love that he is writing now!
