September 2014

Hyrum got the word “wife” mixed up with the word “life,” and it made for a pretty funny (yet mostly true) conversation. He saw a picture of Ryan from our wedding day and asked, “Is that when you were his life?” (meaning wife). We were talking about someone else and he asked, “Is she his life?” (again meaning wife).

Hyrum also loves zip pajamas. I had to order these online because he is too big for the ones they sell at Costco anymore. Now he puts them on but by bedtime wants to change because it’s just too hot to be wearing fleece down here!

Hyrum came up to me and handed me a note he had “written” (meaning squiggly lines all over it). He told me it was a note for Heavenly Father and that it said, “Dear Heavenly Father, please keep the bad guys away.”

We had some friends over this month and we decided to get out the slip n’ slide and blow up pool for the kids to play in. They loved it!

Cora ‘told me a story’ a few times this month, where the story mostly went, “There was a mermaid, the end.” Short and to the point! She also picks out and mostly puts on her own clothes these days. She loves her pink shirts, so they are usually chosen first. She also loves to match, meaning wear the same color on top as on bottom. Some days she looks like a banana in all yellow, but unless it’s a special day, I let her wear what she wants Smile

Hyrum and Ryan got a few new pets this month: Orb spiders. We have 4-5 in our backyard all over, and those two go out to check on them every day. They watch them spin their webs, capture and eat their food, and grow. They have named them, too: Corny, Webster, Goka, Cocoon, Pele, Baby. Hyrum calls them their ‘Spider Bros.”

We had a couple awesome monsoons his month! One we were at the park for, so we played in it for as long as we could until the whole park was flooded. Hyrum didn’t like to be in the rain and flooding very much, but Cora had a great time!

It was our primary program this month, so it was definitely a busy time for me since I was in charge of it! I wrote it, made the seating chart, and tried to help everything flow right for over 70 kids. It went extremely well, mostly because our amazing music leader had very uplifting and inspiring song arrangements that touched many people’s spirits and testified to many of Christ. And the kids did great!

Hyrum had a solo singing the first verse of “Baptism” and he did amazing. He remembered all the words, looked right into the audience and sang loud and clear. So many people told me how his little voice and the song touched their souls and brought tears to their eyes. I am so proud of my little guy and just so happy our amazing primary was able to help so many feel the Spirit that day. I sure do love being in primary!

For me, the pregnancy is going alright. I have definitely been more tired this time around and have had to lay down a lot more due to contractions that started around 26 weeks. I had to go to Labor and Delivery to get those checked out then, and everything was fine but I was told to try to take it easy, so I do my best. I can’t take it that easy with two other kiddos running around! This little boy is the most active of any of the kids I’ve been pregnant with- he seems to be constantly moving. He has been hard for the dr to get his heartbeat and measurements because he scoots away every time they try to get it. I had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago, and I saw that he has hair! I also saw one little 3D picture of his nose and lips (again, he was moving like crazy) and it looked exactly how Cora’s looked around the same time in utero. So we’ll see if he looks just the same as the other 2 did! I have found out with this pregnancy that I have to eat every few hours and drink tons of water or I get shaky. The dr said I was actually a little low on the glucose test so I have to make sure to keep up with that.

Here I am at 31 weeks pregnant with our little guy:

We were in Mesa for my Mom’s birthday this year, so we got to celebrate with her! I am glad we got to be there, because who knows the next time we’ll be able to celebrate her birthday with her, since we’ll be moving next summer. I made her a Boston cream pie for our celebration, and we had fun going out to lunch too:

  1. Okay, I'm just going to say that in the pictures of you in the green shirt in the monsoon, you don't even look pregnant! It might be the angle of the camera or something, but yeah! Of course, in the others, you do, but you are so cute!
