Me: You know your friends’ daddy? He’s the bishop now, so we call him Bishop ___.”
Hyrum: Or ‘Hyrum’ for short!
Everyone but me got a pretty bad stomach virus in May, and here’s a sick Hyrum taking an underwear-only nap on our couch:
Cora passed out by the toilet after a major tantrum where she refused to go to the bathroom and brush her teeth before bed one night:
Ryan and I got to go on one last date before we left Tucson- to the Gaslight Theater! And we got to go with our good friends, the Wiests. We had a great time!
Hyrum played his last basketball game the morning of Ryan’s graduation, so my parents and sister got to see him. He even got the ball a couple times!
Cora: “I’ll be a boy when I’m five and a half!” (since that’s Hyrum’s age right now, apparently she thinks you have to be a boy to be that age).
Cora: “I can’t brush my hair cuz’ I need my privacy.”
Zane loves chewing on and playing with water bottles and cups, does a super-baby move where he’s only on his tummy and lifts his arms and legs, and likes to scoot backwards.
While the boys were on their father-son campout, me and a friend and her daughter had a girl’s sleepover! We had octopus hot dogs, painted our nails, and watched a Barbie movie. The girls stayed up late giggling!
Hyrum: “I’m gonna miss M (his best friend in Tucson) when we leave. Can I go to her house and her a hug before we go?”
Cora was reading the Dictionary and told me, “You gotta be a pop star to read this.”
Our good friends visited us in May and we had a great time! We stayed up late playing games like old times and our kids played together. It’s crazy that we have all of these kids now, when I remember us all as newly-weds going to each others’ houses and hanging out!
For Mother’s Day this year, I got tickets for our family to go to the local children’s theater’s show, Mary Poppins. The kids loved it and I was glad to be able to introduce my kids to a little bit of culture
Zane loves to swing in his bouncer- he doesn’t bounce much, but will rock himself back and forth with his feet.
Zane had his first solids this month (oatmeal) and liked it a lot! Since then he has had lots of solids and gulps it down, as well as loving to chew on pizza crusts.
Preschool crafts from the year!
We got to go to Mesa for a temple trip, and the kids got to have a great time swimming with their cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Martin. We’re sure going to miss this!
