We had a great 4th of July with my parents in town! The night before the 4th we watched our neighbors’ fireworks and the kids even got some poppers from a neighbor:
On the actual 4th, me, my mom, and Hyrum and Cora went to the Ralston parade, where we saw some step-dance groups, workout groups, tons of Shriners and fancy cars, Star Wars people, and got lots of candy! The kids enjoyed it:
Our neighborhood had the fire department come and spray some water for the kids on our street:
Our kids wanted more, so we turned on our sprinklers when they left:
We had a great BBQ of ribs, hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, pasta salad, and chips!
Matching shirts for American Independence Day!
For dessert we had a yummy berry trifle:
That night we had sparklers and tons of our own fireworks we set off. The kids (including my dad and Ryan) had a blast playing with fire!
At the end of the month we went to the Offutt air force base’s air show. We saw some planes, the kids got to go on a little ride, and we saw some cool planes fly. We saw parachuters who let off different colored powder, a trick-flying plane, a plane with no engine, and, of course, the Thunderbirds!
Cora loved the bus ride from our parking to the air show the most!
