Sometimes Hyrum helps Cora with her reading lesson, and it’s pretty cute!
Our zoo has a new splash pad, and it’s pretty awesome!
Hyrum got pretty sick this month- so sick he couldn’t even get dressed after a shower:
Ryan went on a trip to CA this month, and his hotel room in San Diego had an awesome view of the marina:
Sometimes Cora likes to make herself a bed in the hall in the middle of the night:
Zane’s words have exploded this month! His new words are: Ipad, cheese, juice, OK, please, amen and even his first sentence- Momma up!
Zane also ditched his binkies this month (finally) and he loves to get out his own hymn book and sing in church. It’s pretty cute!
We had an awesome party for the Olympics Opening Ceremony, where everyone brought a dish from a different country, we watched the opening ceremony, and kids and adults competed in four different Olympic events: soccer goals, basketball hoops, hula hoop javelin, and “ribbon dancing.” Everyone got a medal and candy for participating. Here’s our kids after the ribbon dancing event:
We discovered this cool fountain in our local shopping center and had a nice lunch right before school started:
Hyrum is way into Minecraft now, brought on by playing it at a friend’s house recently. He really goes through strong phases of what he’s interested in! And he usually brings Cora right along with him. So, for now, it’s Minecraft.
I was reminding Cora that she needed to change her underwear every day, and she wisely added, “but not when I die.”
Hyrum and Cora got to go camping in our backyard with Ryan the weekend before school started, and they had a great time! They even said they wished they could do that every weekend.
Hyrum is such a sweet older brother, he will give Zane tons of piggy back rides around the house, just because Zane loves it. Hyrum also built this, all on his own out of his own brain:
My Dad, Hyrum, Cora, and I went to Fun-Plex this month since we had to postpone Hyrum’s Disneyland trip. It was actually really fun! Who knew little Omaha had a place like this? There was a little water park with a kiddie area, a splash park, wave pool, lazy river, and a couple big slides. The kids loved it!
They also had a bunch of rides:
They had a go-cart course that was pretty fun, too:
Hyrum really loves to take pictures on my phone using this filter:
We got to visit Hyrum’s classroom before his first day of school, and he was stoked because they have two class pets: a turtle and a fish!
Here is our summer list we made at the end of school, and we did everything except walk around Walnut Creek Lake (which the kids had opportunities to do so, they just changed their mind about wanting to do it). I’m glad we did this, because it really shows all the awesome summer fun we had and pushed me to be a more fun mom this summer!
Hyrum’s first day of 1st grade!
Cora’s first day of preschool!
This little guy sure loves cookie dough:
On our trip to MN, we were at a bar/restaurant and we got a little cup of ranch to dip our onion rings in. I looked away for a minute, and instead of dipping his onion rings, he was just drinking the ranch right out of the little cup! Zane sure loves ranch…
Zane got his vest this month, so now both kids have a vest to do their treatment! It is SO much more convenient, and Zane loves it. He was actually mad when his treatment was over the first time!
We went on a quick trip to MN at the end of August for a Schuetzler family reunion and celebration of his Grandpa’s life. It was nice to see his family that we never see, and the kids just adore spending time with Aunt Maren and Uncle Dallen. Zane ended up not sleeping in the hotel, but it’s ok, we’ve decided to never travel with him again
I got to visit Cora’s preschool during class one day, and it was cute to see her in her classroom, doing her work like coloring a puppet. She loves her preschool and it’s a little nice to have a break in the afternoon:
