September 2016

Ryan and I celebrated our 9th anniversary at the beginning of September by going to the Drover, a steakhouse in Omaha. We both had some of the best steak we’ve ever had! After dinner we still had some time so we went to Midtown Crossing where they have some cool statues:

This month Ryan went to a conference in LA, and part of the conference included a tour of Sony Pictures studios, where he saw some cool TV and movie memorabilia:

While Ryan was gone I ended up taking the three kids to Panera bread by myself due to a craving for one of their salads. It wasn’t the best idea (Hyrum spilled half his mac and cheese on my purse and the floor, Zane kept running away, and Cora burst into full on tears for the last five minutes), but we made it!

This month Zane has really come to love being chased and chasing others. He will purposefully snatch something from one of the older kids just so they’ll come chase him down to get it back!

16 weeks!

We made a car change! With another little one on the way, we could no longer all fit into our beloved CR-V, so we sold it and bought a Toyota Sienna. We are LOVING it! It is so spacious!

Hyrum started a tiger club at his recess at school this month, where the whole point of it was to “save the tigers by planting trees in Africa.” He even had a friend so excited about it that she wrote him a special note asking him if she could be in his club!

Cora put on some shorts that have little white hearts on them and she came down and told me, “I’m wearing my heart shorts today because I love you!”

Hyrum learned about Monarch butterflies this month and their migration. Their class also had some butterflies in cocoons that emerged and they got to watch, tag them, and let them go. He LOVED it. Every time he saw a Monarch butterfly after that, he told it, “good luck on your journey Monarch butterfly!”

Cora started dance again at a new studio this month, and she is still loving it!

Zane learned his animal sounds this month, plus he learned “bye-bye,” “love you,” “don’t know,” and “go!”

We got to go to the zoo with one of Hyrum’s friends this month, and it was actually a really nice zoo day:

Hyrum started soccer this month, and he’s been doing so much better! He actually gets in there and can steal the ball and dribble it down the court a little. The best thing of all is that I no longer have to force and drag him to practice and games, so I think he’s liking it a little better!

I told Cora she was a brave girl and she told me, “I’m not brave yet! I can’t face a dragon.”

Zane is a cuddler and a hitter. He will go up to Cora in her preschool line and give her a huge hug (all the other parents are saying “aw”) and then right after the hug he’ll give her a big shove.

Hyrum lost his first tooth this month! He was so excited when one of his teeth began to wiggle, so he wiggled it as hard as he could so it would fall out before his birthday trip to Krypton Comic. He did finally lose it at school a couple days before the trip and he got a whole dollar! I’m still getting used to that little gap in his teeth Smile

Cora had a fun run at school today, and she was just the cutest little runner out there! She even did 35 laps!

We are excited for Halloween around here!
