Hyrum’s 7th Birthday!

Hyrum turned seven in October! I can’t believe he’s that old already! He decided just a week or two before his birthday that he wanted a Pokémon theme (it was almost a Minecraft theme), but we were still able to go with it.

He got pokeball cupcakes and a pokeball pizza for his birthday party:

The Friday before his birthday was his birthday party, where he got to invite his best friend to this Pokémon dinner (which included his favorites of Doritos and green grapes as well):

and then to go with us to the Coco Key indoor water park:

The kids had a blast at the water park- we were there two or three hours!

After the water park we came home for some cupcakes, ice cream, and presents:

The next day was Saturday, and Grandma and Grandpa Martin came to town! To celebrate Hyrum’s birthday they took him to Crypton Comic (where he likes to go to buy used Pokémon cards), Chuck E Cheese, and then to the store to pick out his birthday present. He got pretty spoiled!

Sunday was his actual birthday, and for breakfast he got crepes, then he got to open his presents:

He got a lot of Legos, some dinosaur things, some Pokémon things, and a bat costume:

Here he is in his bat costume:

For dinner on his birthday he requested tortellini soup, peas, and chocolate milk- and that’s what he got!

The next day, on Monday, me and Zane got to bring Hyrum a Happy Meal from McDonalds to school and eat lunch with him in the cafeteria in honor of his birthday. I think he enjoyed it!

Hyrum sure has grown up so much this past year. He has really grown into such a helpful and kind big brother, a determined and avid reader, and much more independent. He likes to draw and write stories, loves non-fiction (especially about animals), loves video games, loves to learn, is so smart, and is just a fun and humorous boy. He still likes snuggles at night, and he loves to run and wrestle with Daddy. We sure love him!
