Hyrum loves joke books, and loves to borrow them from the library. Here he is, blowing dandelions:
Hyrum also loves his baby sister!
We went with our playgroup to the Laurtizen gardens this month, and we had a great time! The rose garden was gorgeous, and the kid’s garden was just magical:
We got new dining room chairs! These white ones have really lightened the space, plus it’s so nice that they aren’t falling apart!
Zane loves to play the “I’m an egg” game after his baths. He wears his hooded towel and curls into a ball underneath it while telling me what color of egg he is. Then I guess different things he could be for awhile, until he starts to hatch. He’s usually a dinosaur, so he comes out roaring!
Napping with Daddy on the couch is the best:
I grew two bell peppers for the first time ever! I did not have a super successful garden this year, but I learned some things, and I tried, so that’s good enough for me!
Hyrum and Cora made a bunch of posters one day for different classes they were offering, like “how to draw Pokemon,” “animal draw,” and “paper airplane camp.”
One thing I love about Cora is how she always works hard for what she wants. She practiced gymnastics a lot so she could move up classes. She practices her spelling words so she can get a good score on the test. She’s been practicing her math facts in her room too, to get better at that. I hope she never loses that inner drive and determination! Here she is, wearing Ryan’s costume glasses:
Ivy has really fallen in love with books that have flaps this month. Those are about the only books she will sit through these days, except for this children’s BYU book we have. She loves that one because it ends with the fight song and she loves when we sing it to her!
We had our first snow this October! We got at least three inches, and it was a rare, perfect snowman-making snow. The kids played outside for hours in it!
I didn’t let poor Ivy out, mostly because I didn’t think she could handle it, which made her very sad:
You know it’s winter when the fireplace looks like this:
Ivy loves the song “Baby Shark,” as do a million other kids right now, I think. She’ll even walk around singing it randomly and slap her arms together like a little shark, “doo doo doo doo doo doo.”
Both kids let me do their hair one day!
They were so cute, they wanted to take a picture of me too:
We went to the zoo with our playgroup and decided to do the Skyfari before it closed for the winter. It was fun, and only a little nerve wracking making sure Ivy didn’t jump out:
All our kids have loved riding the rocking horse Great-Grandpa Schuetzler made:
Zane loves helping me bake:
Sometimes you have to wait in the car while your siblings do their activities. But luckily, mom lets you have a tablet:
Matching sisters! (And Zane)! Cora was so excited about this second picture that she told her teacher about it at school and reminded me to show it to her at parent/teacher conference that afternoon.
Fun times at the Children’s Museum!
I like taking my kids places, but it always wears me out:
Cuties!
The three older kids had their primary program this month! They all did awesome!
It was Zane’s first one, and he said his line really close to the microphone so it was good and loud All the kids were asked a question, and then their lines in the program were their answers. Zane’s was, “I know that Heavenly Father knows I like to play with toys.” It was kind of a miracle that he said his line, because he chickens out every time he has to say the prayer or scripture in sharing time. Zane liked to turn around and see me sitting behind him (I teach primary), so I’d have to redirect his attention to the front. He also started spinning in circles near the end of the program, and I felt bad for his sweet Sunbeams teacher trying to keep all of those littles reverent! She did great though!
Cora’s line in the program was, “I know that Heavenly Father loves me because Jesus died for us.” She did great too! Her teacher gave her the printed out script for the program, so she sang while reading the paper the whole time.
Hyrum’s line was, “My favorite story about Jesus is when He visited the Nephites.” He did great too! He even sang!
Ivy had a great time looking for all of us up on the stand and waving with a huge smile on her face!
