We did our traditional movie and out to lunch on New Year’s Day (we watched Mary Poppins Returns):
We had a lot of sicknesses in our family over winter break, so we didn’t get to do nearly as many fun things as I had planned:
We did get to play on all the bouncy houses at Jumpin’ Jax:
And go to the zoo:
Ryan shaved his beard:
Zane and Ivy have been playing together so much more lately, it’s great! Sometimes Zane will even read to Ivy:
Ivy has been talking a lot more lately! Her hair has also grown a lot in the past few months, so much so that Grandma Martin thought it looked like we put a wig on her!
Sometimes Cora likes to make a little nest in this corner of her room and read, and some nights she even sleeps there!
We got a lot of snow this month, which also meant three snow days in a row. We all had a lot of fun playing in it though:
Then all the snow fun makes some of us super tired:
Ivy always begs to put on her little apron when she sees me wearing mine:
Apparently, Mommy is good to sleep on:
Ryan and I got to go to the Broadway show, Aladdin! It was awesome, and my second favorite musical production I’ve ever seen (after Wicked):
I took Cora on a date this month, and she chose Freddy’s for dinner, followed by skating. It was a little hard for her at first, but she definitely got a lot better by the end!:
Wonder women!
Spider-boy!

On the last of our snow days, when the kids had been home for 5 days already and were losing their minds, we met some friends at our church gymnasium and let them just run and bike around to get some energy out:
Snowballs!
Hyrum made a cat sculpture out of Legos:
I took a Zane on a date this month, too. We went to Chick-Fil-A and the for a special super hero night at the Children’s Museum. They had a lot of dressed-up people as Super Heroes around the museum to take pictures with, but Zane was too scared to get that close. He was enthralled with the Spiderman though, and even tried to follow him around at a distance. Spiderman eventually noticed Zane and tried to talk to him, but Zane was too shy to do anything but hide. Still, that was definitely the highlight of his night!
We also got some Runza ice cream afterwards:
And yes, both kids made the same face at me when I tried to take their picture!
Bat-baby!
Cora let me do her hair!
Sunday nap time!
Poor baby Ivy:
I taught preschool once this month, and we learned about people in our community. Then we got to visit the fire station as a preschool. The icing on the cake was when the tour was over and the alarm went off, and the firefighters all grabbed their gear and jumped into the truck, then drove away with sirens blazing!
