December 2018

Hyrum and Cora have started requesting meals when I dinner plan, and Hyrum has even gone so far as to add it to my menu board:

Zane loves to be scared. He also loves villains. His favorite Christmas movie was The Grinch and his favorite character in Rudolph was the Abominable Snowman.
Zane wants to be done with naps so much, but every time he skips it, he still ends up falling asleep somewhere else later:

Being the 4th kid is hard, especially when you have to sit through so many of your siblings activities, but at least she enjoys some tablet time!

I made a chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake for our Christmas RS activity, and it turned out so perfect I had to take a picture! Mine never look this good on top:

Ivy loves to say, “ah wuv voo!” aka, I love you. She also says, “muh moh dim” aka one more time. So many cute phrases lately!
This girl loves her winter Oreos:

Close-ups at ice cream time:

One of Zane’s little friends told him that she wanted to kiss him, but he gave a disgusted look and said, “I only like kisses from Mommy.”
Zane also told me a few times this month (after we were all cured from a bout with stomach flu), “My tummy hurts. It hurts because of not laying down and watching movies.”

Hyrum has really become such a sweet big brother to Zane lately. I really love moments like these, when Hyrum lets Zane cuddle with him when he’s scared by a show or something:

Hyrum had his music performance this month! It was snowman-themed, and Hyrum did a great job with his speaking part, doing the actions, playing the xylophones, and singing!

Whenever you ask Ivy how old she is, she says “fwee!” (three) but holds up one finger. So she half knows Smile Also, to her, every color is yellow.
Ivy started watching Doc McStuffins this month, and has since been REALLY into playing with the stethoscope:

My parents came to visit us this month, and they took all the kids to the opening celebration of our city’s new fieldhouse. The kids got to play in these large, clear balls and jump in bouncy houses and just had a great time!

We had a really great snow at the beginning of this month, and we all had a fun time. There was snow eating:

Shoveling:

Snowman making:

Snowball fights and snow fort making:

Snow angel making:

And sledding!

We were glad my parents were in town, so Grandma could watch Ivy while the rest of played and Grandpa could go sledding with us!
If there is snow on the ground, Zane will walk in it, if he’s wearing snow boots or not. Even if he has to go way out pf his way to walk in it. Even if he’s so tired. Especially, it seems, if we’re in a hurry.

Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman; tall, tall tall!

In the sun he melted, melted, melted; small, small, small:

Cora likes to teach Ivy gymnastics:

Cora had her first gymnastics mini meet this month, which is pretty much a practice competition meet, and she did a great job!

Hyrum is such a great big brother:

It was my birthday this month! Ryan and the kids were great to me! I got breakfast in bed, went to a movie with Ryan, and out to dinner with the whole family. Plus my presents and a birthday cake! I got pretty much all clothes for my birthday, and Cora felt sorry for me. What Cora doesn’t know is getting clothes is one of my favorite presents! I also got a Bosch, which I used almost daily in December:

The caped crusaders:

Ivy snuggles:

Zane was being really difficult one night and just wouldn’t stay in his room, so we had to lock him in. After a lot of crying we heard him yell, “I miss you. I’ll never forget you.” That nearly broke my heart!
Zane’s requested “dinosaur” hair at church one Sunday:
Ryan was kind enough to take the kids to get their annual labs for CF this month:

As a family, we played games and ate appetizers the last Sunday of the year!

All dressed up for NYE at a friend’s house!
