The art challenge from the kids' school this week was to draw a picture using an object you find around the house. Here's what they came up with:
Zane's pen "spaghetti noodle"
Hyrum's pencil spear and string lasso:
Cora's yarn hair:
Hyrum's started reading the Eragon series in week 6, and now he's read two of the books, and just waiting for his hold on the third book to be ready!
We had a virtual cupcake decorating display for the young women class I help, so here's my creation- the Candyland Cupcake!
Hopscotch math with the littles!
Walk Wednesday was just around our neighborhood this week, but the kids still really loved it. They collected rocks, picked dandelions, and checked out other people's dogs:
The kids did a virtual scavenger hunt this week through Cora's gymnastics place. They had fun, but it was exhausting for them as they ran all over the house to find things. Here they had to find something yellow:
We learned about sea turtles this week in marine biology, so the kids got to craft their own! They also like to make crazy faces:
Hyrum's really been enjoying making Lego scenes for his enrichment time. This one is a robot vs people battle:
Cora made chocolate M&M cookies for her enrichment time in week 7!
In week 8, we learned about sharks and their amazing sense of smell. In this experiment we learned that our sense of smell can't even compare!
The kids' art challenge (from their school) for week 8 was to do some perspective photography. Here's Cora's:
Here's Hyrum's:
We learned this week about how blubber helps some marine animals to withstand colder temperatures, so we did an experiment with some shortening and ice water:
The kids made a walking robot from their Kiwi crate:
Cora did a show and tell with her primary activity group, where she showed one of her new Beanie Boos, Pixy:
Walk Wednesday was at Schwer park this week, It was short, but we did get to see a horse!
The kids grew some crystals for their enrichment time:
We learned about whales and echolocation this week, so here we are, testing it out:
Cora made some homemade pretzels for dinner/enrichment time this week, and we all enjoyed it!
When learning about whales, we took some string and measured out the lengths of different whales. It made it easier to visualize how truly ginormous a blue whale is! Our neighbors thought it was cool too!
