Zane's Birthday

We celebrated Zane's birthday in November! Because of Covid being particularly bad in UT in Nivember, we weren't able to do a party or anything (story of the year), but we still made sure Zane had lots of fun! The Saturday before his birthday we went to the zoo in Salt Lake. It was cold, but fun and didn't have too many people!

They had these signs all over (to encourage social distancing), but Zane was so excited thinking they were for his birthday- "Hey, I'm turning 6!"

We went on the carousel in honor of Zane's birthday:

We also got to go on the train:

It was pretty cool to see the sea lions up so close:

We were glad we got to see the elephants right before we were leaving:

We love this boy and were glad to celebrate him at the zoo!
On his actual birthday, he got crepes with Nutella for breakfast:

And he LOVED opening his presents! He got Pokemon cards, a scooter, a Pokemon stuffed animal, and a Ryan's World volcano!

We spent the morning of his birthday "hatching" dinosaurs from baking soda eggs, playing with Jello slime, and unleashing his new volcano!

After school Zane played video games until we had his special birthday dinner: peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches, mandarin oranges, and rainbow jello:

Brownie dessert on his birthday (the kid can't just smile for a picture):

I made him a special Pokemon blueberry cake for his birthday that he picked out, and we saved it to eat with Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler when they came to visit for Thanksgiving a couple days later:

Zane is our kid who can't just smile for a picture, who's always in pajamas, and who has the most expressive eyebrows. He's also very loving, needs to wrestle at least a few times a week, smart, really loves his siblings, and such a good kid. He's very kind to Ivy, has tons of energy, and has learned to read so well this past year. We sure love him and are glad he's ours!
