Christmas 2020

On Christmas Eve morning we went to downtown Provo to see their decorated Christmas windows:

Then we all got a treat from a local French bakery, where most of the kids got ice cream, Zane got a Nutella cream filled pastry cone, Ryan got an éclair, and I got the most delicious mille-feuille:

When we got home we decorated gingerbread houses. The kids all did really great this year, and even Ivy did most of her own frosting!

Ivy was pretty much eating her house and frosting while she was also decorating it:

Zane started eating the candy off of his house right away, and Ryan smashed his for a fun video:

Christmas Eve night we had our homemade pretzels on the floor in front of the Christmas tree and then acted out the Nativity. Cora was Mary, Zane was Joseph, Hyrum was a donkey/Wise Man, Ivy was a shepherd, Ryan was an angel, and I was the narrator:

Ivy being "sore afraid" and watching her sheep:

The wise man saw the star!

Then we opened our Christmas Eve gifts (matching pajamas and ornaments). Ryan and I got a Harry Potter Universal Studios ornament and a 2020 ornament (masks, TP, and hand sanitizer were all represented), Hyrum got a Minecraft ornament, Cora got a baptism ornament, Zane got a Pokémon ornament, and Ivy got a little dancer ornament.

I've been reading Christmas books to the kids all month long, but of course on Christmas we had to read "The Night Before Christmas."

In the morning we opened presents!

The kids then spent the morning and afternoon playing with their new toys and eating candy:

Christmas dinner!

We ended the night with our annual Christmas lights scavenger hunt:

It was a fun Christmas together as our little family!
