This year we decided to decorate a train instead of a gingerbread house because Hyrum really trains these days. If he sees a train, he’ll say “Gug-gug-gug-gug-gug choo choo!” meaning, ‘chugga-chugga choo choo’.
It was more fun doing the gingerbread this year because Hyrum could actually help, and he LOVED doing it. He also liked to eat some of the candy too.
For days after we decorated the train Hyrum would stare at the train and try to return the candy that had fallen off into it’s rightful place.
I loved decorating the house for Christmas this year, and even tried some new ideas, like an ornament garland (that I made):
And a candy cane banister:
I went to a cookie exchange again this year, where my sugar cookies won for best decorated and tied for best tasting :)
Hyrum continues to like to wear his mask everywhere and when we put it on him, he’ll say, “Super Hyrum!” and start running as fast as he can around the house. It’s adorable!
Here’s our little cowboy, on a play horse at grandma’s house. When he rides this or the rocking horse at our house, he’ll saw “ow-boy. Yee-ha!,” meaning cowboy and yee-ha, of course.
Over the holidays (spent in Mesa with the Martins), Hyrum got to be part of a few cousin’s sleepovers at Grandma and Grandpa’s house:
Playing with cousins also involved a lot of dressing up, like this butterfly-knight combo he had on one time:
Hyrum got a Mr. Potato Head for Christmas, which he LOVES (and I’m not so sure I love all the little pieces everywhere) and thought he would make a good potato to put the mustaches on:
