We went to North Dakota to visit the Schuetzlers for the holidays this year, and got there a few days before Christmas. We had such an awesome time and we LOVED the snow and the cold- we were pretty sad to leave it. We had so much fun spending time with almost all the Schuetzlers (just Tyler and Angela and their little boy were missing). I will post about the rest of our trip and all the fun things we did in the next post, but for now, about our Christmas:
We went to church that Sunday in our Christmas-y type church outfits. It was SO awesome to be able to go to Sunday School and Relief Society!
On Christmas Eve, we acted out the Nativity (Hyrum had fallen asleep earlier and so was a bit grumpy for it but warmed up in the end):
Joseph and real-live pregnant Mary:
Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus (played by Cora):
The “angel” Ryan telling the shepherd about Baby Jesus:
The shepherd going to see the baby:
The two wise women and wise man going to see the baby:
The whole cast:
The narrator:
Then the kids opened one present each- pajamas and books!
And I got pajamas:
And Ryan got pajamas:
The kiddos in their new pjs:
Hyrum wears these slippers all the time now. I had a hard time convincing him that he couldn’t wear them to the store!
Playing with the presents began that night!
Hyrum was so cute about Christmas this year. He had a really hard time getting to sleep because he kept thinking he heard Santa Clause coming!
