New Years Eve 2012

So per the Schuetzler tradition, we celebrated New Year’s Eve with the New Yorkers (or somewhere in an earlier time zone) so the kids could stay up and celebrate without it being too late. We started the celebration with yummy finger foods and appetizers, which Cora enjoyed:

We also watched some Laurel and Hardy, which is apparently another Schuetzler tradition.

Then at our fake midnight, we set off poppers, jumped on bubble wrap, and blew our horns:

Hyrum even liked pulling the cord on poppers this year:

We were a crazy bunch- celebrating for a whole 15 minutes!

The kids did sparklers right before “midnight” but Hyrum didn’t want to then. Later, when he realized he was about to go to bed without getting to do one, he said he wanted to, so the three of us went out and I helped him so he wasn’t scared. His first sparkler!

We went home 2 days later, and were definitely sad to go. But we are enjoying 2013 here in Tucson!
