Only the kids actually carved pumpkins this year. Ryan got sick the week of Halloween, so he was in bed early every night. But the kids did great! Hyrum asked nearly every day when we would carve the pumpkin he picked at the pumpkin patch, so he was pretty excited when it was time to actually do it. He even took out a couple of scoops of pumpkin guts all by himself this year! He still really hates the feel of it though, so it took quite a bit of convincing. Cora tried to do it, but it was still kind of hard for her so she didn’t help with that part much either:
Hyrum drew the face on his pumpkin, and even carved out some of it. He also wanted wolverine scratch marks on it to match his costume. He loved that it would scare the trick-or-treaters!
We let Cora draw on her pumpkin, and Ryan did his best to cut out some of the shapes she had drawn (though he had to entirely make-up the mouth part since she only drew on the top of the pumpkin). She called it her Elsa pumpkin, and we let her think it looked like Elsa
