We were in Mesa for Christmas Eve and Christmas this year, and we did the traditional Christmas Eve nativity play with all the kiddos. Zane was baby Jesus, Hyrum was a horse/camel and Cora was a wise woman. Ryan really had to convince them to keep their costumes on until it was their turn:
Mary “rode” the camel (Hyrum):
Zane was a calm and adorable baby Jesus:
Cora, one of the wise men looking for Jesus and pointing at the star:
Then Santa came! Hyrum knew right away that it was Grandpa, which he was a bit disappointed it wasn’t the real Santa. He kept asking when the real ‘special visitor’ would come. Cora was pretty freaked out by ‘Santa,’ even after she saw that it was actually Grandpa. She took a lot of convincing to sit on Santa’s lap, and wasn’t very happy about it, but she has told me a few times since that next time she wants to sit on Santa’s lap. We’ll see if she follows through on that.
Then the kids opened their gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler, bikes! They absolutely love them and spent all Christmas morning practicing riding them.
